As we move through the final weeks of the year, I want to provide parents with information on how they can get involved at Ardmore Elementary for the 2015-16 school year. The success of our school is dependent on parent input and it is vital that I provide various fo- rums for this input to occur. Over the coming weeks I will be unveiling some unique and meaningful ways in which parents can provide input regarding the overall direction of our school, as well as input regarding their own child’s educational experience at Ardmore. Over the course of the next several months, Ardmore teachers, parents, and administration will be re-writing the School Improvement Plan for the 2015-16 school year. The School Improvement Plan (SIP) is a tool that all BSD schools use to prepare every student for aca- demic success, career/college readiness, and a positive/productive life. It is a plan that is unique to each school, refined annually, and will define our targeted work to raise achieve- ment for all Ardmore students. With that lofty purpose in mind, you can understand why it is so important that we provide communication channels that allow input for all stakehold- ers during the creation of our new SIP. Over the coming weeks I will be sending infor- mation to parents regarding the ways in which they can provide input with this important document. I will also be exploring additional ways in which parents can provide the school with valua- ble input regarding their individual child. I have worked with PTSA and school leadership to formalize a process that allows parents to provide input related to class placement for the upcoming year. To be clear, this is not a process that allows parents to choose their teacher, however, it is a process that affords parents the opportunity to give us valuable insight regarding their child’s personality nuances, outside interests, etc. This type of infor- mation can be extremely valuable for administration as we place students in classrooms each summer. The next Eagle Chat will be held on May 19th and the main topic will be an overview of the class placement process. Presenting class placement in this forum will ensure that all families are afforded the opportunity to receive this important information. As always, don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns, and I look forward to seeing y’all around Ardmore! Sincerely, Chas Miller Principal – Ardmore Elementary May Virtue: Curiosity

¡Atención familias de habla his-
Ardmore's Field Day is coming
up soon!
This is one of the most fun afternoons at Ardmore, where parents take the after-noon off of work and join their students for lunch at school. After lunch, we all stay and help set up games for the students to play. The kids run around with their class-mates all afternoon, eating popsicles, tossing water balloons and getting their faces painted. Choose the game station you can help at now by signing up on helptime.com. Just go to www.helptime.com, click on event finder, and enter Ardmore. You can find Field Day there as well as other options. Can't take the afternoon off? We need a few game supply donations. Want to know more about a game station? Con-tact Liz Mereckis at: [email protected]

item free." We accept cash or cards, and students can also pur-
chase books during their library time if families wish to send in funds
with their student.
