What is it?

2. A means to create interactive web mapping.

3. Can be used to give non-GIS users an easy way to view GIS data.

4. Completely customizable

How It Works:1. User access IMS site, makes a request (Zoom In,

Zoom Out, Pan)

2. Web server passes request to ArcIMS application server.

3. ArcIMS server processes the request and then passes the result back to the web server

4. Web server then displays the data to the user
