WATERSHED EDUCATION AND RESEARCH CENTER
THE WATERSHED EDUCATION AND RESEARCH CENTER PROJECT WAS A SEMESTER LONG COLLABORATIVE STUDIO WORKING WITH ARCHITECTS, INTERIOR DESIGNERS, AND GRAPHIC DESIGNERS. THE PROJECT WAS BACKED BY A $25,000 PLANNING GRANT USED TO INFORM THE PUBLIC ON THE IMPORTANCE OF WATERSHED ISSUES. THE PROJECT WAS TO DEVELOP A WATERSHED EDUCATION AND RESEARCH CENTER FOR LOCAL AND SURROUNDING STUDENTS TO VISIT ALONG WITH THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO BE INFORMED ON THE WATERSHED AT HUESTON WOOD STATE PARK IN OXFORD, OH.
I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OVERALL BUILDING DESIGN AND OVERSEEING THE GENERAL PROGRESS OF THE PROJECT. I WORKED ON THE EXTERIOR PERSPECTIVES, PLANS, SECTIONS, ELEVATIONS, AND SITE LANDSCAPE DESIGN.

CLIFTON LIBRARY WAS A STUDIO PROJECT IN MY SOPHOMORE YEAR TO RENOVATE THE EXISTING LIBRARY FOR CLIFTON, OHIO. THE PROJECT DEALT WITH STRICT CODE AND CITY LIMIT RESTRICTIONS, AND TO DESIGN A FIVE STORY LIBRARY THAT WAS WELL INTEGRATED INTO THE COMMUNITY. THE PROJECT ALSO TAUGHT US ABOUT INTEGRATING SUSTAINABLE TACTICS INTO ARCHITECTURE.

NOVOLI COMMUNITY CENTER
NOVOLI COMMUNITY CENTER WAS A PROJECT COMPLETED IN MY JUNIOR YEAR, WHILE STUDYING ABROAD IN FLORENCE, ITALY. THE PROJECT WAS TO RENOVATE AN ABANDONED HEATING PLANT LOCATED IN AN AREA OUTSIDE THE CITY CENTER. THE COMMUNITY CENTER INCLUDED SPACES FOR TWO MODERN ART GALLERIES, AN INFORMATION CENTER, AND OUTDOOR CAFE SPACE.
THE PROJECT DEALT WITH HISTORICAL CONTEXT ISSUES AND HOW TO REDESIGN AN EXISTING BUILDING.

FLORENCE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION WINNER
THIS PROJECT WAS COMPLETED DURING MY SEMESTER ABROAD AND WAS A ONE WEEK COMPETITION TO DESIGN A MODERN ART MUSEUM FOR SAN MINATO, ITALY.
THE COMPETITION WAS WITH STUDENTS FROM MIAMI UNIVERSITY, KENT STATE UNIVERSITY, UNIVERSITY OF MILAN, FLORENCE, AND SWITZERLAND. MY GROUP WAS AWARDED THE FIRST PLACE DESIGN. THE PROJECT DEALT WITH INTEGRATING A MODERN STRUCTURE INTO THE HISTORIC ITALIAN TOWN.

3D B+H PAVE COMPETITION FINALIST
THIS PROJECT WAS A THREE WEEK LONG INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION THAT I COMPLETED DURING MY SENIOR YEAR INTERIOR DESIGN STUDIO. THE PROJECT WAS TO DESIGN A MOVEABLE 3D MAKEUP STAND THAT REPRESENTED A SPECIFIC COSMETIC BRAND. I CHOSE BARE MINERALS AS MY COSMETIC COMPANY, AND MY VANITY EASEL WAS MADE TO FEEL LIGHT WEIGHT AND COMPACTIBLE; FOLLOWING THE BARE MINERALS BRANDING CONCEPT.
THE COMPETITION IS OPEN TO ANY COLLEGE, INTERNATIONALLY, WITH A RETAIL OR INTERIOR DESIGN PROGRAM. I WAS SELECTED AS ONE OF THE 12 FINALISTS AND WILL HAVE MY SUBMISSION FULLY FABRICATED. THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN LAS VEGAS IN FEBRUARY.

BARE MINERALS PRIDES ITSELF ON SELLING “MAKE UP SO PURE YOU CAN SLEEP IN IT” HAVING A PRODUCT THAT
IS PURE AND NATURAL MEANS FEELING LIGHT
WEIGHT AND FREE. MY CONCEPT OF LIGHT WEIGHT AND CREATIVITY IS TRANSFORMED INTO A MAKEUP VANITY THAT SPARKS CREATIVITY AND IS AIRY IN NATURE. MAKE UP IS AN ART FORM AND WOMAN SHOULD NOT ONLY FEEL PRETTY WHEN WEARING IT, BUT FEEL BEAUTIFUL. THEY SHOULD BE INSPIRED BY THE MAKE UP THAT IS ON THEIR FACE, AND SHOULD UNDERSTAND HOW TO APPLY IT WITH EASE AND COMFORT....
WITH THE STRUCTURE OF AN ARTISTS EASEL, THE IDEA OF A MAKE UP VANITY IS COMPLETELY REINVENTED. THE

THIS PROJECT WAS MY FINAL PROJECT FOR MY RETAIL INTERIOR DESIGN STUDIO, DURING MY SENIOR YEAR. THE PROJECT WAS TO DESIGN THE FIRST AND ONLY FLAGSHIP STORE FOR TOMS SHOES, LOCATED SOMEWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES. MY CONCEPT WAS BASED OFF CONNECTING DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WORLD THROUGH GLOBALIZATION AND INDUSTRIALIZATION. I CHOSE DETROIT MI AS MY SITE. AS AN ARCHITECTURE MAJOR I ALSO DESIGNED THE STRUCTURE AND LOOK OF THE BUILDING, AS WELL AS THE LANDSCAPING AROUND THE SITE.
THE PROJECT FORCED US TO IMPLEMENT THE SIX STAGES OF THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCE, ATTRACT, INFORM, INSPIRE, COMPARE, PURCHASE, AND REASSURE. WE ALSO HAD TO INCORPORATE TOMS BUSINESS CONCEPT AND PHILANTHROPY INTO THE DESIGN TO EDUCATE THE CONSUMER ABOUT THE BRAND IDENTITY.
