INTRODUCTION
Architecture is a mul.-‐faceted approach to the planning, design and management of public
spaces. Architecture capitalizes on a local community’s asset, inspira.on and poten.al, ul.mately crea.ng good public spaces that promotes people’s health, happiness and well being. Architecture is a term that began to be used by architects and planners to describe the process of crea.ng buildings, plazas, parks, streets and waterfronts that will a>ract people because they are pleasurable or interes.ng.
Architecture and memory exist analogically in an essen.al, yet largely provisional rela.onship, which is given meaning by a produc.ve prac.ce of making, doing, living, and being, and is undertaken by both designer and user as they engage their individual memories and experiences. And memory, as an element component in our connec.on to the world, will always be important to the ways in which we find meaning in the buildings and spaces we interact with. To make meaning in architecture is to begin a crea.ve prac.ce which organizes past experiences, present ac.ons, and future desires into significance at any given moment.
