Features & Benefits° Outstanding acoustic performance - revolutionary absorbent building block which
provides simple and cost-effective solutions where reverberation causes problems withspeech intelligibility and acoustic performance in conventional constructions.
° Will reduce the reverberation in the hall thereby significantly reducing the amplifiedairborne sound energy.
° Additionally, the flutter echoes and standing waves produced by reflective parallel wallsurfaces will be significantly reduced.
° The overall result is reduced distraction from airborne noise together with improvedspeech intelligibility.
° Available in both the Athena and Corinthian finishes, with an extensive choice of coloursthat lets specifiers and contractors create projects with true visual impact.
° A comprehensive selection of special shapes are available for detailing purposes.
° An economical and maintenance free alternative to other external finishes.
° The real added value of Alphacrete Acoustic Block® is that significant cost savings thatcan be made - once constructed the blocks form a durable and decorative soundabsorbing wall without the need for plastering, painting or the addition of separate, sound absorbing wall panels required to achieve Part ‘E’ compliance with standard blockor brick constructions.
MANUFACTURE: Alphacrete Acoustic block® units aremanufactured from locally sourced aggregatesfrom our own quarries located at Fivemiletown,Belcoo and Pomeroy.
Alphacrete Acoustic block® has a specialaggregate mix - together with an alteredgeometry - and is available in two finishes -Athena and Corinthian.
PLANT OF MANUFACTURE (POM):Made at our Fivemiletown Production Plant.
STANDARDS & PERFORMANCE:Manufactured and tested to category D2 withinBS EN 771-3: 2011 - Class 2 (Length: +1 / -3mm,Width: +1 / -3mm, Height: + or - 2mm).
SPORTING GREEN: AG developed the Sporting Green colour to helpachieve the requirement as prescribed by SportEngland in the design guidance notes (section 5)February 2011. AG’s Sporting Green colour willgive sufficient contrast against sportingaccessories. Further to this, the finish of the blockwork will give a uniform look across all planesadding aesthetic value to the project.
SOUND ABSORPTION: The absorbent characteristics and soundreduction indices of the blocks were measuredin Sound Research Laboratories’ UKASaccredited test facility. Full test reports areavailable on request.
All measurements of sound absorption wereperformed in accordance with the guidance setdown in BS EN ISO 354: 2011 - Acoustics -Measurement of sound absorption in areverberation room.
FIRE RESISTANCE: Alphacrete Acoustic block® offers excellent fireresistance properties as they are manufacturedfrom a Class 1 aggregate.
CERTIFICATION:
ISO 14001: Environmental Management.
OSHAS 18001: Occupational Health and SafetyManagement.

NOTES: Alphacrete masonry units are manufactured using natural stonewhich can vary slightly in tone. Where possible it is advised to orderfrom the same production run to avoid the possibility of tonevariations (shading).
We also recommend that products are selected from at least threebales, within each delivery. This will eliminate 'banding'.
Like all quality concrete products with a high cement content,Alphacrete masonry units can display the effects of efflorescence.Sometimes known as ‘white bloom’, this naturally occurringphenomenon will disappear over time and does not effect thestructural integrity of the blocks.
Care should be taken when handling Alphacrete masonry units.During transport and delivery some ‘chipping’ (up to 5%) can beexpected. These can be used for cuts and detailing.
All faces can be exposed excluding the top and bottom of the unit.
