Fifth year design thesis A psychiatry nursing home sited at Balik Pulau, Penang for mental health patients who need longer period of recovery after discharge from hospital treatment. The project consists of Assisted Living Units, Independent Living Units, Family Accommodation, Activity Center, Therapeutic Farm, Animal Assisted Therapy Area, Maintenance Workshop, Industrial Kitchen and Sports Court. The architectural design attempts to apply the concept of "Places of the Soul" by Christopher Day in selected spaces to achieve therapeutic purposes in spatial design while complying to facility requirements stated in Mental Health Act 2001 and Regulations.
