PERFORMANCE / THEATRE ETIQUETTE FOR THE AUDIENCE: 1. CELLPHONES!
- Cellphones are not permitted backstage. - Cellphones should be turned off or on silent in the auditorium.
2. VIDEOTAPING IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE AUDIENCE. Keep your cellphones in your pocket and enjoy your child’s moment on stage!
3. NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY (for the safety of the dancers and enjoyment of other guests)
4. PLEASE WAIT BETWEEN ROUTINES TO ENTER OR EXIT THE THEATRE.
5. PLEASE NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE THEATRE.
FOR THE DANCERS: 6. DANCERS SHOULD DO AS MUCH AS THEY CAN IN ADVANCE
- Dressing rooms can be crowded and the availability of mirrors is sometimes limited. It is recommended that dancers do their makeup and hair prior to their arrival at the theatre. This way they can relax a bit upon their arrival, get into costume, touch up makeup and hair and enjoy their experience.
7. BE ORGANIZED! LABEL EVERYTHING! - Use a garment bag – labelled with your name and studio. - Organize your costumes and check the night before if you have all your
headpieces, accessories, tights and shoes. - Label everything you own in case it gets lost or mixed up.
8. DANCERS SHOULD KEEP THEIR AREA NEAT & TIDY
- Dancers should keep their dressing room area tidy. Avoid entrance ways and keep your things together and out of the way of heavy traffic areas.
9. NO PHOTOS OR VIDEO IN THE THEATRE, BACKSTAGE OR DRESSING ROOMS - Taking photos in the theatre is strictly prohibited for all attendees including
guests, dancers and parents watching. - Dancers should not take photos in the dressing rooms or backstage.
10. NO COSTUMES IN THE THEATRE, LOBBY AREAS OR PUBLIC PLACES:

If you love it and don’t want to lose it, then leave it at home or label it!

HAIR REFERENCE
BALLET BUN – (AT CROWN)
- Center ponytail at the crown of the head - Use a medium bun sponge - DO NOT wrap excess hair – tuck & hide it - Secure all fly-away hairs with hairspray - Use bobby pins that match hair color - USE A HAIR NET that matches hair color
- Center ponytail above crown of the head - Secure all fly-away hairs with hairspray - Use bobby pins that match hair color - Straighten/Flat Iron ponytail hair - Use a 1 inch section of the ponytail hair,
spray with hairspray and wrap around the elastic and secure with several bobby pins underneath the ponytail.
2 FRENCH BRAIDS INTO A BUN
- Part hair in center & French braid each side - Secure bottom of braids into bun
- Bobby pins (matched to hair color) - Hair elastics - Thin “Goody” brand hair nets (matched to hair color) - Hair spray and/or gel - Sponge bun foundation (matched to hair color)

MAKE-UP REQUIREMENTS
ALL Dancers will need the following makeup items:
Black MascaraEx: Maybelline Big Lash Mascara #130 Blackest Black Black Liquid Eye Liner Ex: Revlon Color Stay Liquid Liner#251 Blackest Black Red Lipstick & Lip liner Ex: Rimmel #500 Take The Stage Beige/Brown/Nudes Eyeshadow Palette Ex: Cover Girl Eye Enhancers 4 pack “Natural Nudes”/ “Sheerly Nudes” Rose blush + Bronzer Concealer to hide blemishes etc. Eye brow liner Foundation (optional but recommended) False eye lashes & eye lash glue (optional)
• Tip: Do eyebrows first. Fill in & darken them & clean up around edges of
brows with foundation afterwards. • Recommended: Apply primer or foundation over lids & brow bone • Apply light eyeshadow color all over eyes. • Apply dark brown to edges & crease. • Apply/blend light taupe from center to inner corner of eye • Apply light beige to inner corner of eye & highlight under brow. • Line with liquid eyeliner from center to outer corner of lid • Create wing line and work backward from outer corner to inner corner to
define eyeliner and shape the wing • Recommended: Curl eyelashes with eye lash curler • Apply mascara on upper eyelashes. • Line under eyes with black or dark brown & apply mascara on lower lashes. • Tip: Clean up residue on face from eyeshadow before applying foundation. • Tip: Use foundation around wing of eyeliner to clean up edges • Tip: Moisturize face before applying foundation • Apply foundation and blend • Tip: Use concealer to hide blemishes and also to highlight face (see
tutorial video) • Apply bronzer lightly to cheeks and mildy to areas of the face and then
apply blush afterwards • Line lips with lip pencil and then apply lipstick. • Tip: Keep Vaseline handy to keep lipstick from getting on teeth • Tip: Use a setting spray to keep makeup lasting long
