Production Notes

So Sam, Oliver and myself began our position for what we thought would make us publishing greats in the college. What we soon discovered was it instead entailed chasing down overdue articles like a pack of wolves and contemplating taking up drugs.

A question that has regularly popped up is “Why the Sheep?”. Well, I'll take you back to a Classics lesson in November, a friend had asked me to bring it in for General Studies (as we all know, any distraction is helpful in these lessons), and so I decided to bug a friend of mine who sat next to me with it. It wasn't long before our Producer noticed, but rather than the verbal ticking off I was expecting, was instead a passing remark on it's becoming a sort of mascot. Thus Sheepy's (yes I know, inventive name) media career began!

Article wise we had a couple of issues, one being last years Rome trip proved so popular two people decided to write about it. Alas, neither would even give us the luxury of writing it really badly and making an easy decision. In the end we had a 10p coin decide for us. Also this issue I was asked to do a couple of interviews, using some rather antiquated (you might even say quaint) technology. I can't say I have ever come across such a contrast of interviewees in my life. Indeed whilst our Japanese exchange student was one of the quietest people I've ever met, our budding actor was all together more vocal (that first paragraph is cut down from 40 minutes of audio!).

My article count also spiralled out of control this issue, indeed I was intending only to do a double page spread adaptation of my Baldock notes on Facebook (which likely won't be offered as an add-on here due to the more colourful language). Teenage Angst was originally intended for the previous edition, but got rejected because another article on the same lines existed, so I thought I'd sneak it in this edition instead. Editor's prerogative.

I hope you've enjoyed this edition and we're looking forward to bringing you Issue 23 in Summer.
