Annexure II

Best Practice-1

1. Title: Effective implementation and execution in maintaining academic diary.

2. Goal: The practice of maintaining academic diary was implemented with the following

goals:

• To bring coordination in teaching and learning.

• To keep record of day-to-day activities.

• To execute the work as per the schedule.

3. Context: It is difficult to see execution of all diverse activities in the recent changing

scenario. Academic Diary help to keep record of all the student and teacher related

activities properly.

4. Practice: The Academic Dairy was designed by Shivaji University, Kolhapur and it has

following major heads:

• Individual Time Table

• Annual Teaching Plan

• Text books and Reference Books

• Class and Subject wise teaching/practical Programme

• Lectures or other Teaching Duties in excess of UGC Norms

• Examination Related Work

• Co-curricular Extension and Professional Development related Activities

• Research and Academic Contributions

• Awards/Certificates Won

Limitations: It is difficult to get it signed by the authority on every page on daily basis.

5. Evidence of Success: Proper documentation of the activities done by each faculty in

respective Academic Diary. It helps the faculty members to work with effective time

management.

6. Problems: Sometimes the faculty members are so busy with their curricular and co-

curricular activities and they likely to forget of making note regularly in their Academic

Diary. Despite any problem, each and every faculty member of the college submits

his/her Academic Diary at the end of the Academic year without fail.

Annexure III

Best Practice-2

1. Title: Health Check-up of Girl Students

2. Goals: To create awareness among girl students about their health. Maximum number of

girl students of our college belongs to the rural area and there appears to be neglect

regarding health related issues.

3. Context: There seems to be lack of awareness among the girl students about their health.

The concept of Health Check-up has not been paid attention by them till now. They are

not doing their health check-up on regular basis.

4. Practice:

• The Health Check-up Camp for girl students is organized once in each term.

• Well-qualified doctors guided the girl students regarding health related issues.

• Girl students were made aware of Menstrual Cycle.

• Awareness on Problems of adolescence.

• Blood Check-up, Hemoglobin Check-up and CBC Check-up etc.are done in the

Health Check-up Camp.

• Health Card of Girl Students is prepared and maintained regularly.

• Emergency medical facilities are provided by on-campus Venutai Chavan Medical

College and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sevabhavi Hospital.

Limitations: Girl students are seen to be reluctant to share their health problems.

5. Evidence of Success: Distribution of Health Cards to the girl students who availed free

check-up facility.

6. Problems: It is difficult to implement the scheme and convince large number of girl

students in the college.
