March Supervisor of the Month

As the majority of us await our turn to strut across

the graduation stage, one of our Campus Rec 2009

graduates had this to say about their plans:

“After graduation I will be working as a therapeutic recrea-

tion intern at Lauren Ridge Treatment Center in San Antonio.

In October, I will take my certification exam to be a Nation-

ally Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and hope to

remain in San Antonio or find a job in Austin or the sur-

rounding areas.” Bailey Brown, Bachelor’s in Recreation

Administration major, May 2009

“I will be attending the NIRSA Conference next week to fur-

ther establish my search for my dream Club Sports job post

graduation. I am hoping to move to a coastal location and

work with college students in the field I love. Until then, I

will take advantage of my summer and enjoy the river and

outdoors.” Catherine Garland, Sport Clubs Grad Assistant,

Masters in Student Affairs, May 2009.

Useful Tips:

1. Register for graduation through your department.

2. When you have purchased your cap and gown, hang it up and

let creases disappear.

3. Update your resume. Employers seek a strong resume and

cover letter that stands out from an application pool.

4. Mail out graduation invitations to everyone!
