Staff Spotlight for AprilMs. Ashley Melton – Assistant
Principal
Hometown: Swansboro, NC
College: Wingate University
How many years at Fairview?: This is my second year and I LOVE
it!
Favorite restaurant: Chili’s – I love their southwestern
eggrolls and molten chocolate cake
Name of your favorite elementary teacher when you were in
school: Mrs. Guthrie, my second grade teacher. My grandfather
passed away that year and she was supportive and nurturing. She
went above and beyond for us during school and after school on many
occasions.
City you would like to visit: Sydney, Australia – I’ve always
wanted to go to Australia and New Zealand
Favorite sport/team to watch: Carolina Panthers and Tar Heels!
Football is definitely my favorite sport!
Favorite thing to do when not at school: I can’t pick just one –
I love going to dance and yoga classes and I love to read!
Most rewarding part of being the assistant principal: Making
relationships and connections with students. I love to watch them
grow and mature over time and help them in any way I can –
socially, emotionally and/or academically.
Silliest fact about you: I am BEYOND terrified of any kind of
snake! I can’t even look at pictures of them in books or see them
on television.
Which staff member would you like to spotlight next month? Send
your vote via email!
