Jason McClaren, CFRN, BSN, RN Flight Nurse, LifeNet of the HeartlandJason is an Army veteran with more than 20 years’ experience in the medical field, first as a combat medic with the 82nd Airborne Division, and currently as a flight nurse. He graduated with his BSN from the University of Nebraska and has also earned CCRN and CFRN certificates, among other distinctions. He has worked in hospital emergency departments and intensive care units, providing care to severe trauma and post-op patients. Jason now not only transports and cares for patients during a life flight, but also teaches new and aspiring nurses and medics. He has also been deployed for FEMA disasters to move critical care patients out of disaster areas.

Morgan LaHolt, M.D. Brain Injury Program Medical Director, Madonna Rehabilitation HospitalsDr. LaHolt has served as the Medical Director of the Acquired Brain Injury Program at Madonna’s Lincoln Campus since 2010. Also receiving a sub specialty in brain injury medicine from the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2014, Dr. LaHolt has treated hundreds of patients rehabilitating from brain injury. He also serves on the hospital’s Medical Executive Committee and is an Independent Medical Examiner through ABIME. Dr. LaHolt is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners and the American Medical Association.

Brooke Murtaugh, OTD, OTR/L, CBIST, BT-C Brain Injury Program Manager, Madonna Rehabilitation HospitalsBrooke is an experienced occupational therapist with an extensive background in brain injury rehabilitation. After receiving her Clinical Doctorate from Creighton University in 2004, Brooke began working as an OT at Madonna in 2006. She received her national certification as a Brain Injury Specialist in 2009. Brooke currently serves as Madonna’s Brain Injury Program Manager, a title she has held since 2015. In addition to serving as a Certified Brain Injury Specialist National Trainer for the Brain Injury Association of America, Brooke has spoken at numerous conferences on various topics of brain injury.

Lori Terryberry-Spohr, Ph.D., ABPP Director of Rehabilitation Programs, Madonna Rehabilitation HospitalsLori is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist with more than 25 years’ experience in a hospital setting, 14 of which have been at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital where she currently oversees all rehabilitation programs at the organization’s two campuses. Prior to serving as the director of rehabilitation programs, Lori was the hospital’s brain injury program manager, a role she held for nine years. She currently serves on the Nebraska Region 1 Trauma Advisory Board and Nebraska Concussion Coalition, is a part of three active research groups and is an accomplished speaker, presenter and contributor to academic and clinical publications.

Diane Ulmer, OTR/L Spinal Cord Program Manager, Madonna Rehabilitation HospitalsWith 20 years of experience as an occupational therapist in a hospital setting, Diane began treating patients with spinal cord injuries (SCI) in 2000. She has served as Program Manager for Madonna’s SCI program since 2003, where she provides clinical leadership and program development, while also providing direct patient care and patient and caregiver education. Diane understands the unique care that comes with a spinal cord injury and continuously trains her staff on best practices. When she isn’t educating her patients or her team, she’s providing continuing education for other clinical professionals through numerous presentations and conference appearances.

Shelly Kinney, MSN, RN, CNLCP, CCM Life Care Planner/Case Manager, Kinney Consulting, Inc.A master’s prepared nurse certified in Case Management and Nurse Life Care Planning with more than 20 years’ experience in the rehabilitation field—15 of those as a life planner—Shelly co-owns Kinney Consulting, Inc., a company providing life care planning and case management services for injured workers. She works with individuals of all ages, helping to plan for the long-term needs of peo-ple with brain injury, neuromuscular conditions and chronic pain. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners, has served on the Scope and Standards Work Group and is a frequent speaker and contributor to nursing publications.

Shawn Wills, B.S. Director of National Sales, Madonna Rehabilitation HospitalsShawn has led the Workers Compensation Summit at Madonna since 2016, the same year he assumed the role of Director of National Sales at the hospital. He has more than 12 years of experience in the Medical Case Management industry, serving as a National Account Representative. Now, Shawn travels across the country, meeting with individuals and families affected by serious workplace injuries, working to grow Madonna’s national footprint in the Workers Compensation Market. Outside of the hospital, Shawn has served terms as President of the Nebraska Claims Association and President of Kids Chance of Nebraska.
