Research with your child ways your family can reduce garbage. 3. Challenge your child to find ways to reuse items in your home. 4. Teach your child how to recycle items in your community. 5. Ask your child to turn off electronics no one is using. 6. Talk to your child about ways to save water. 7. Teach your child to not be wasteful with food or supplies. That includes eating all the food on his or her plate and not using more materials than are needed for a project. 8. Have your child make artwork with paper scraps and other “found” objects. 9. Watch nature documentaries together. 10. Ask your child to draw or paint a nature scene. 11. Put up a bird feeder together. 12. Make a dinner tonight that has no meat in it. Try to do the same every week! 13. Have a birthday party for the Earth on Earth Day! For dessert, make “dirt cups” with crushed chocolate cookies, chocolate pudding, and gummy worms. 14. 1. Make a pledge with your child to do one “green” thing a day.

2. Research with your child ways your family can reduce garbage.

3. Challenge your child to find ways to reuse items in your home.

4. Teach your child how to recycle items in your community.

5. Ask your child to turn off electronics no one is using.
