FAITH FORMATION NEWS REMINDERS

2019-2020 Registration will begin April 23rd & 24th.

Dates to remember: April 23: Confirmation Class, 7-8:30PM April 27: First Communion Mini-Retreat 11:15-3:30 PM Students only, parents return at 3 PM May 2: First Communion Rehearsal, 4:45 PM *No class 4/30 and 5/1 for 2nd year students ONLY May 4: First Communion, 11:30 AM Students arrive at 11AM to Faith Formation building

FAITH FORMATION JOB OPENING Coordinator, K-6 Faith Formation program

The Search Committee of the Parish is currently looking to fill this position beginning in August 2019. Below are the qualifications deemed necessary to be considered for this ministry.

A Faith Formation Coordinator... *Understands and is faithful to the basic teachings of our Catholic faith supported by a strong prayer life

*Is willing and able to take classes in order to be certified Level I & II and complete Basic Leadership Training in the Archdiocese of New York

*Has experience teaching catechetical classes

*Has good communication skills with a deep desire to share our Catholic faith with children and their families

*Has the ability to lead prayer and catechetical sessions for children and parents including Sacramental Prep programs and Family Catechesis

*Has the ability to enlist, train, and support volunteers to serve as catechists and aides

*Can oversee the Safe Environment program within the Faith Formation program

*Is very flexible knowing that, at times, weekends and evenings beyond regular hours will be required

*Understands that this position is a ministry and will usually require more than 18 hours per week

If you feel God is calling you to this very special ministry, please contact the Parish office for an application. A completed application must be received in the Parish office no later than April 30, 2019.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SCHOLARSHIP

The St. Stan’s Knights of Columbus is sponsoring its annual $500 scholarship that will be awarded to a graduating high school senior who is pursuing higher education from an accredited technical school or a degree at an accredited two or four year college. The senior must be a child of a contributing member of St. Stanislaus Parish or active and contributing member of the St. Stanislaus Knights of Columbus. Applications are available now. Forms can be downloaded from the website of the Community Foundation of the Hudson Valley at www.cfhvny.org. Once on their website, click on the box “Scholarships” on the upper right-hand side of the page, then click “All Scholarships” and scroll down to St. Stanislaus Knights of Columbus Scholarship. Forms are also available in the Parish Office and on our parish website. The deadline for submission of the applications is May 15. Submit your application ASAP! Any questions? RESPECT LIFE INFORMATION

ALL-WEEK CALL CAMPAIGN April 28-May 4, 2019

With the RHA, our NY Legislature has already passed one aggressive bill against life. Now, Physician Assisted Suicide may become law. The whole Archdiocese will act this week to make our voices heard that these laws are NOT acceptable. Please call your State Assemblymen and Senators this week. Phone numbers and a script are available.

MASS FOR THE UNBORN St. Patrick’s Cathedral, May 4th at 12pm

This Mass will “kick off” the Alive from New York event.

ALIVE FROM NEW YORK May 4, 2:30-4:30pm, Times Square

“Alive from New York” is a Focus on the Family event in Times Square on Saturday, May 4th, 2:30-4:30pm designed to celebrate the sanctity of human life; marvel at the wonder of human development in the womb; and encourage advocacy for women facing unplanned pregnancies and the preborn. The event will feature live music and inspirational speeches from special guests, as well as abortion survivors. Jeanne Mancini of the National March for Life in Washington D.C. will host the afternoon.
