Since our last newsletter we glad to see Past Commander Bill Miller is out of Sarasota Hospital after successful heart surgery. We are saddened by the loss of his wife, Sandy. Please keep Bill in your prayers. With the pandemic affecting all our lives, now is a great time to remember your fellow veterans in prayer and to check on our friends. Do a Buddy Call and see how a fellow vet is doing.
Our At Ease Program for combat veterans is no longer meeting on the first Tuesday of each month, until further notice. Any combat veteran who would like to meet with another combat vet who is there to listen, please contact me and we will set up a time to meet. My phone number is 850-227-6552. My email is [email protected].

At the March ALA Unit 113 general meeting we elected a nominating committee in preparation for our upcom-ing election of officers in May. The committee is: Elisabeth Patierno, Vickie Bundy and Mary Gleason. Instructions to the commit-tee is: to ask each officer if they would accept the nomination of their current position for the coming year (2020/2021). If the answer is no, ask the officer if there is another office they would like to be nominated for. Each member may only be nominated for one elected office. The same questions
are to be ask of committee chairmen; a committee chairman may hold more than one position since these are appointed not elected. If you are not contacted by a member of this committee and wish to be nominated for an office or a committee chairman position of Unit 113 please notify one of the 3 people on this committee. The committee will present a slate of nominees at the April meeting and nomina-tions will also be accepted from the floor. Elections will be held during the May meeting.
As you are all probably aware AL Post 113 will be closed for 30 days. I have been in contact with the District President, Theresa
Walls, on different ways to hold our nominations and elections if required without a physical meeting. The nomina-tions and elections made be held electronically (more information to follow on this subject - electronically). If you are not receiving emails through Constant Contact from the Unit, please give Rita Ellis (webmaster) an updated email address at [email protected].
Auxiliary President—Robbie Brown

ANOTHER BREAKFAST
COMING SOON!
Governor Disantis’ directive regarding the carona-virus has caused the closing of the post for at least a
month and possibly longer. As a result, the ball drop committee has decided to hold a raffle drawing
event at the post including door prizes and an auc-tion soon after we reopen.
We will draw the $2,000.00 winner and at least two $200.00 winners depending on final ticket sales.
We thank all who have sent in sponsorship money and members that have returned paid tickets. If you have not, please send them in along with your dona-
tion. The Ball Drop is one of the post’s most im-portant fundraisers.
Thank you for your understanding and please stay healthy and safe!
