2. The Kanha Tiger Reserve has become the India’s first tiger reserve to officially

introduce a mascot “Bhoorsingh the Barasingha”. The Barasingha or swamp deer

is the state animal of Madhya Pradesh.

3. The Atria Convergence Technologies (ACT) Fibrenet has recently launched 1

Gigabit per second wired broadband internet service in Hyderabad. With this

launch, Hyderabad has become the India’s first ‘Giga-enabled’.

Nashri all-weather road tunnel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The

road tunnel will reduce the travel time between the two state capitals of Jammu

and Srinagar by approximately two hours.

4. The World Autism Awareness Day 2017 has been observed across the world

on 02 April 2017. The 2017 theme for the day is "Toward Autonomy and Self-

Determination".

5. Sunaina Singh has been appointed the new vice chancellor of Nalanda

University (NU). Currently, she is vice chancellor of the English and Foreign

Language University (EFLU), Hyderabad.

6. Vanaja N. Sarna, a 1980 batch officer of Indian Revenue Service (IRS), has been

appointed the new chairman of the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC).

singers in the Hindustani tradition and is an innovator of the Jaipur gharana.

3. BP Kanungo has recently taken charge as the new Deputy Governor of the

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a period of three years in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

4. Phoenix India Research and Development Group launched the first bio-

gas fuelled bus in Kolkata keeping a flat fare of just Rs 1.

1. India and the UK decided to set up a 240 million pound fund to finance clean

energy projects, as per the statement of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

Executive Director (ED), following the appointment of B P Kanungo as Deputy

Governor.

3. The Assam government has recently started four-day long Gunotsav

programme to improve quality of school education in the state from April 4,

which will cover over 9 lakh students of 12320 primary schools in Barpeta,

Chirang, Dibrugarh, Hailakandi, Kamrup (Metro), Lakhimpur, Morigaon and West

Karbi Anglong districts.

4. Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank Ltd becomes the seventh entity to receive a

final licence from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to set up a payments bank.
