1. The biggest river festival of India “Namami Brahmaputra” has started in 21

3. The Atria Convergence Technologies (ACT) Fibrenet has recently launched 1

Gigabit per second wired broadband internet service in Hyderabad. With this

launch, Hyderabad has become the India’s first ‘Giga-enabled’.

1. Olympic silver-medallist P.V. Sindhu has defeated Carolina Marin in straight

sets 21-19, 21-16 in 47 minutes at the India Open badminton championship 2017

2. The Union Agriculture Minister Radhamohan Singh has inaugurated India’s first

International Centre for Foot and Mouth Disease (ICFMD) at Argul in

Bhubaneswar, Odisha on April 1, 2017.

3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the 9.2 km long Chenani-

Nashri all-weather road tunnel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The

road tunnel will reduce the travel time between the two state capitals of Jammu

and Srinagar by approximately two hours.

4. The World Autism Awareness Day 2017 has been observed across the world

on 02 April 2017. The 2017 theme for the day is "Toward Autonomy and Self-

Determination".

5. Sunaina Singh has been appointed the new vice chancellor of Nalanda

University (NU). Currently, she is vice chancellor of the English and Foreign

3. BP Kanungo has recently taken charge as the new Deputy Governor of the

provide one-time grant of Rs 21,000 to all those families whose third girl child was

born on or after August 24, 2015.

3. The famous Berhampur Thakurani Yatra festival has started with great pomp

and gaiety in Berhampur, Odisha. It is one of the biggest festivals of southern

Odisha.

4. Raman Roy, the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Quatrro, has been

1. India and the UK decided to set up a 240 million pound fund to finance clean

energy projects, as per the statement of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

2. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently appointed Malvika Sinha as new

Executive Director (ED), following the appointment of B P Kanungo as Deputy

Governor.

3. The Assam government has recently started four-day long Gunotsav

programme to improve quality of school education in the state from April 4,

Karbi Anglong districts.
