Hello Everyone!!! I hope everyone is doing well and are gearing up for another season. As usual, we are all dealing with the Spring winds of New Mexico. Hopefully by May the winds will have died down and we can enjoy some early summer days. Thank you to everyone who attended our last meeting at Red Hawk Golf Club. A special thanks goes out to Bo Cichuniec and his staff for hosting the meeting. I was unable to play golf, but I heard the golf course was in great shape and a great day to play golf. I would also like to thank Ryan Goss of NMSU for his education presentation. Ryan has a lot of new and useful infor- mation. Members who attended the meeting received 2 CEUs for New Mexico Pesticide License renewal, and .15 education points from GCSAA. The next RGGCSA meeting with be on May 12 th at Twin Warriors Golf Club. I would like to thanks Brian Hodges in advance for hosting the meeting. I want to remind everyone that the general meeting and lunch will be at the Prairie Star Restaurant located at Santa Ana Golf Club and our afternoon session will be at Twin Warriors. If you attend this meeting and have not paid your membership dues for 2014 you will be charged a meeting fee. RGGCSA now has a Twitter account setup. This is a new tool for the RGGCSA to use to communicate with our members. This will be a learning curve for all of us involved. If any of you have experience with social media please contact a board member or John King. The RGGCSA board is in the process of establishing several committees and would like some of our members to head these committees. You do not have to be a board member to head a committee. Here are a few committees we are looking to form: Social Media, Research, Govern- ment Relations, Elections, Rounds for Research, and Water Advocacy. If you are interested in any of these committees, please contact a board member or John King. In closing, I would like to thank the RGGCSA Board Members and our Executive Director, John King, for all their time and service to our organization. I would also like to say thanks to our members who have stepped forward to head the following committees: Education - Matt Urban, Web Site - Mark Hanson, Scholarship - Caleb Buckley, Golf Tournament - Robert Gonzales. Hello Everyone!!!
I hope everyone is doing well and are gearing up for another season. As usual, we are all
dealing with the Spring winds of New Mexico. Hopefully by May the winds will have died down
and we can enjoy some early summer days.
Thank you to everyone who attended our last meeting at Red Hawk Golf Club. A special
thanks goes out to Bo Cichuniec and his staff for hosting the meeting. I was unable to play golf,
but I heard the golf course was in great shape and a great day to play golf. I would also like to
thank Ryan Goss of NMSU for his education presentation. Ryan has a lot of new and useful infor-
mation. Members who attended the meeting received 2 CEUs for New Mexico Pesticide License
renewal, and .15 education points from GCSAA.
The next RGGCSA meeting with be on May 12th at Twin Warriors Golf Club. I would like
to thanks Brian Hodges in advance for hosting the meeting. I want to remind everyone that the
general meeting and lunch will be at the Prairie Star Restaurant located at Santa Ana Golf Club and
our afternoon session will be at Twin Warriors. If you attend this meeting and have not paid your
membership dues for 2014 you will be charged a meeting fee.
RGGCSA now has a Twitter account setup. This is a new tool for the RGGCSA to use to
communicate with our members. This will be a learning curve for all of us involved. If any of you
have experience with social media please contact a board member or John King.
The RGGCSA board is in the process of establishing several committees and would like
some of our members to head these committees. You do not have to be a board member to head
a committee. Here are a few committees we are looking to form: Social Media, Research, Govern-
ment Relations, Elections, Rounds for Research, and Water Advocacy. If you are interested in any
of these committees, please contact a board member or John King.
In closing, I would like to thank the RGGCSA Board Members and our Executive Director,
John King, for all their time and service to our organization. I would also like to say thanks to our
members who have stepped forward to head the following committees: Education - Matt Urban,
Web Site - Mark Hanson, Scholarship - Caleb Buckley, Golf Tournament - Robert Gonzales. I hope
to see you all at Twin Warriors Golf Club on May 12th.

Special Thanks to Bo Cichuniec and his staff at Red Hawk for hosting the March meeting. Bo was kind enough to host the meeting even though he has only been at Red Hawk for one season. I am sure we can expect to see more good things from him and the golf course as time goes on and the new clubhouse is con-
structed.
Bo is new to New Mexico and comes to us from Arizona. Here are a few other fun facts about
Bo you might want to know:

Superintendent Profile
Brian Hodges - Twin Warriors Golf Club Brian was born, raised and attended High School in Farmington, NM. Later, he moved to Las Cruces to attend college at NMSU where he earned a degree in Turfgrass Management. Along the way he
worked at several golf courses including San Juan CC and Picacho Hills CC.
After graduating from NMSU he landed his first job as an Assistant Superintendent at El Paso CC un-der the tutelage of Phelps Davee. As the career of an aspiring Superintendent often goes, Brian con-tinued on as an Assistant Superintendent at Sierra del Rio and Isleta Eagle golf courses. He spent multiple seasons at each of those facilities gaining experience and knowledge while learning how to
operate golf courses in the multiple arenas of private, public and tribal management.
Brian was hired as the Assistant Superintendent at TWGC in 2011 and earned his role as Superinten-dent there in February of 2013. He has changed the nutritional program at Twin, pointing out that it was under fed for some time and has now, “Returned to the meat and taters of agronomy…” since
taking over.
I am sure we all look forward to playing Twin Warriors and enjoying the fruits of his labor at our next
meeting on May 12th. We will see you there!
