Market needs vs technical requirements

Your needsA global economical solution ArcelorMittal answer

Specific chemistry and a good cleanliness to improve laser cutting, welding or galvanising

Lower silicon content

Lower carbon content • High Carbon promotes

CO2 formation, limiting O2 diffusion. Resulting in lower speed.

• Over-combustions or disturbances on banded structures which presents local concentrations rich in carbon.

Lower sulphur and phosphorous• Internal cleanliness to improve

cut edge quality

Specific process to improve flatness before, during and after laser cutting

Coils • The diagram of controlled rolling and cooling allows

to obtain a great regularity of the mechanical characteristics to limit the internal stresses and to improve the flatness of the sheet.

• The reduction of the thickness tolerances makes it possible to decrease the average weight of the cut out parts and contributes to the regularity of the springback when folding.

Sheets• A specific levelling process makes it possible

to reduce the effects of the internal stresses and to control their effect on flatness.
