Volume 18 • issue 4 - April 2014 From our Association Executive Monthly Newsletter As some of you may be aware, Jo Ann and I just returned from my annual NAR Association Executive’s Institute trip in Baltimore. This particular event is held specifically for Association Executives and staff, and is designed to provide critical training, resources, and information to local and state Association Executives around the country. This year’s event was used as NAR’s launching point for some pretty big news. News of which I believe could potentially have a large impact on our local boards, and more specifically our district within CAR. In summary, NAR will be bringing forth recommendations at the May Midyear Board meeting to implement a set of “minimum core standards” that all REALTOR® Boards must comply with or risk revocation of their chapter status. These core stan- dards are being implemented to ensure a high standard of quality, satisfaction of membership needs, organizational alignment with the National Association, and long term viability of the REALTOR® organization. These standards will apply to every association regardless of membership scale or size, and will be fully disclosed after being reviewed and vetted by the NAR Leadership Team. A few AE’s throughout the state, including myself, met with CAR CEO, Don Flynn while in Baltimore to discuss how CAR and associations throughout Colorado can be proactive in our approach to these changes. We will be meeting with all of the state AE’s at the upcoming CAR Spring Business meetings in Vail to further educate those who were unable to attend AEI and discuss how to help each other move forward through this transition. I will be presenting this information as well as any feedback from the AE’s to the CAR Board of Directors in Vail. My vow to you is to keep you as informed as possible. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or feedback. Your CAR AE Representative, Durango Area Assn. of REALTORS Amanda Erickson is the Assn. Executive of The Durango Area Assn. of REALTORS® You can contact her at 970-247-9604

Monthly Newsletter
As some of you may be aware, Jo Ann and I just returned from my annual NAR Association Executive’s Institute trip in Baltimore.
These core stan-dards are being implemented to ensure a high standard of quality, satisfaction of membership needs, organizational alignment with the National Association, and long term viability of the REALTOR® organization.
