TBMA meetings were hosted by Holley’s Cafe for over 3 years. Holley’s hospitality is very much appreciated. QN Nails Spa, 681 Thurston Road The owners of 681 Thurston Road were just approved by the City for a substantial 90% storefront upgrade grant. The commercial space is home to QN Nails Spa, whose staff has been serving neighborhood customers for some time. The City’s 90% grant program that helps stores fix façade code violations is about to end. Call Street Manager Don Hanks at 328-5750 immediately! “Ease on Down” Business Promotion Event Planned for Saturday, May 18 Save the date: Saturday, May 18. That’s the date planned for TBMA’s 3 rd annual sidewalk business promotion event. We hope to top last year’s popular event (above) attracting more & more visitors each year to Thurston and Arnett venues! All business are invited to participate by hosting a storefront attraction, and by joining a group advertising campaign for a modest donation. Street Manager Don Hanks will visit everyone to explain the advertising & promotion details. EVERYONE is welcome to help plan the event! Planning meetings will be April 3 and 17, May 1, 8 and 15, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, at 216 Thurston Rd. City Appoints Jeff Benjamin to Assist Southwest Business The City Neighborhood & Business Development Dept. recently assigned Jeffrey Benjamin to manage small business support services for the Southwest Quadrant. He will carry forward the projects championed by Thad Schofield, who will pick up responsibility for Northwest businesses. We appreciate all of help Thad gave us!! Jeff can help businesses with applications for the City’s Small Business 50-50 Matching Grants. Most businesses are eligible for assistance with advertising, computers, signs, and security measures.
