The Lady Behind Division 80.The Lady Behind Division 80.

Hello Division 80 Key Clubbers!

My name is Megan Hearn and I will be your

Lieutenant Governor for the 2013-2014 year. Being

pretty much a no one in Boardman to being your

Lt. G has been a big change in my life, a big

change for the better! I am so thankful for this op-

portunity to serve such an amazing group of peo-

ple . This year is the year I’ll bring back leadership

into our division.

.I have many goals that I’d like to meet this

year , I cant achieve these goals without your

help. We need to strengthen our communications

and repair mistakes made last year. Together we

can accomplish anything . My other focus is get-

ting back to the roots of Key Club ; service. It feels

as though Key Club has become more about poli-

tics and less about serving people . I will change

this through divisional projects ; this will help con-

nect our clubs while helping people . I can’t wait

to meet each and everyone of you and make

2013-2014 the best year to be in Division 80!

You can say that I’m not a normal Lt. G but

that’s okay! We share a passion to serve and our

diverse ways of showing that is what will bring our

clubs together. Key Club is a family, and I hope by

the end of my term I can help all of you see that

DCON 2013

There is no way to describe such energy and

inspiration you feel at DCON , but I can try.

For those of you who don’t know what DCON

is , it is a Key Club district convention where every

division in the district gathers and celebrates the

Key Club year, and elect a new district board. This

years Pacific Northwest DCON was in the beautiful

city of Seattle at the Double Tree Hotel. At DCON

you get to show your divisional spirit, listen to amaz-

ing speakers, go to a banquet and dance, and my

favorite part : network with the other hundreds of

PNW key clubbers!

This DCON was very spirited and kicked off

with a motivational speech from Brett Eastburn, a

man with no legs and no arms but he also has no

handicaps. In high school he was a basketball play-

er, a football player, a wrestler, and a swimmer! The

weekend followed with amazing workshops from

Yoga to How to run for a higher office. I would also

say that the dance was a major success , just about

everyone was dancing! The 2013 DCON was amaz-

ing and with the District Board this year I think 2014

DCON will be the best yet. I hope to see all of you

there.

This is going to be an amazing year! I’m excited to meet all of you , be

patient with me if I forget your name or can’t answer your questions; I’m just

beginning to learn the In’s and Out’s of working on District Level , but I will al-

ways help out anyway I can on our divisional level and even club level. This

first month may go a little hazily , but we’ll get the hang of it. Don’t hesitate to

ask me questions or ask me for help that’s one of the many reasons I’m here!

This month I’m looking to accomplish our first DCM , get all of your contact in-

formation, contact our inactive clubs and make my first club visit! April is just

the month to really take all the enthusiasm from DCON and use it to kick off

the Key Club year so get excited!!
