2Latino Business Network By: Craig Tomlinson and Anna Mercado
Latino Business Network, LBN, is one networking group thatmany of us may not think of. If I had to pick two groups that
had genuinely nice peo- ple with great spirit, itwould be Extravaganza!and LBN. AnnaMercado is the 2010Chair of LBN and she’smaking a special effort toreach out to Extrava-ganza!; being the smart businesswoman that sheis, the value of Extrava-
ganza is readily apparent.
When you go to LBN, not only will you learn something andhave a good time, you’ll recognize some of our Extravaganzaregulars like: Jose DelGado, Lorenzo Herrera, AnnaMercado, Ashley Valdez, Curt Rasmussen, Mike Grudzienand Craig Tomlinson. Any of them will be glad to introduceyou around to fellow networkers. However, you won’t justfind the cast of usual suspects, but rather a lot of nice folksyou wouldn’t otherwise get to know. And, speaking Spanishisn’t necessary, although you will hear it spoken.
LBN is officially part of the Eugene Chamber (www.eugenechamber.com/latinobusiness.htm), but youdon’t have to be a Chamber member to come. A nominal feeof $10 is collected at the door (only $8 if you pre-register)and complimentary refreshments are usually served.

March’s
Extravaganza!
Extravaganza at Izumi Sushi, in CrescentVillage Road was another strong show-ing. Estimates of about 85 “members” joined together for networking and an-other great party.
We pretty much owned the new bar, andthe crowd was in a talkative mood. Spir-its were high and this was another terrificExtravaganza! This event was a benefitfor the Red Cross, organized by Christine
Cameron.
The party was still going strong at 8pm,when I left. We had another guest pho-tographer, Craig Tomlinson, III, a bud-ding young photojournalist.
Plan on coming to the Hop Valley for an-other fun Extravaganza!, starting at 4pm.
Now, Here's a great deal!
Networking Times reaches over 500 locals, twice Monthly, via em
Networking Times can be found at www.EugeneExtravaganza.co
The primary mission of LBN is to support local Latino businesses and business people, and inso doing, they also reach out to the non-Latino community-at-large. Nationally, there are more
than 1.5 million Hispanic-owned businesses generating over $200 billion in sales. Hispanicsrepresent a tremendous economic engine for our country, state, and region.
Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at various locations. You may visitwww.eugenechamber.com for more information (Continued from Page 2) and sign up to re-ceive e-mail or event postcards. Because Extravaganza! is about doing business with peoplewe know, I suggest that you sign up with [email protected] for LBN informa-tion. She’ll keep your e-mail confidential and, like Extravaganza!, only sends out a reminder or two every month for the upcoming events.
We can all benefit from a different perspective, and LBN can be a fun and profitable way to
gain one. Why don’t you join us at the next meeting and see for yourself.
