Why FabLab?

1.Sympathy with vision.

Just giving product might not work well when it broken or reach life time. But sharing information how to make it will work. This is what I learned in Kenya.

2.Lack of skills.

When I tried to repair solar lanterns which are broken, but I could not do it because of lack of skills.

In a village where there is no electrify in Kenya, people use kerosene lamp. But there are disadvantages.1. Emitting toxic smoke2. Risk of fire3. Running cost to buy

Solar lantern could be alternative light by solving issues. But, still there are points to be improved. Once it is broken or reach life time, you have to get another one. Also, poor can afford to buy it because of high price

Parts of generation, PV panel, and battery, H-Ni battery(Ni-CD battery), are expensive and it is not easy to get it at even in town. We need to think alternative way to meet the concept.

To meet the concept, I would like to start to think to use dynamo as a generation and lead acid battery as a battery
