It’s a proven way for industry to develop highly skilled employees, reduce costly turnover, increase productivity, lower recruitment costs, and increase workplace safety. Overall, it enhances existing industry operations and promotes growth.

HOW IT WORKS
There are two ways the program works:
Non-Registered Apprenticeship
A Non-Registered Apprenticeship enables businesses to receive
referrals from West AlabamaWorks for potential apprentices
and potentially tap into funding.
Registered Apprenticeship
A Registered Apprenticeship gives referrals for qualified
apprentices plus helps businesses identify additional funding
opportunities.
Through the West AlabamaWorks Apprenticeship program,
businesses tap into one of the strongest workforce development
opportunities available.

INDUSTRY BENEFITS
Strong industry benefits are wide-ranging. They recognize
industry commitment to quality through workforce growth.
Depending on how your Apprenticeship program is structured,
participating employers may be eligible to receive funding or
possible tax credits through nationally recognized resources.
The Apprenticeship program gives employers the opportunity
to build structured, consistent training programs that develop
reliable workforce performance meeting both organization
and industry standards.
Industry-driven design is at the core of any apprenticeship
program. Individual businesses and consortiums of businesses
sponsor Apprenticeships and provide needed input to the
design of the training curriculum.

FUNDING RESOURCES
Veteran’s Benefits, Pell Grants, Workforce Innovation and
Opportunity Act (WIOA), Federal Work Study, and Possible
grant funding through your Regional Workforce Development
Council.
INDUSTRY SECTORS
The program supports industry sectors vital to our
state. Qualified candidates are available for all West
AlabamaWorks Industry Sectors.
