This catalog showcases a collection of pattern designs by Justin Hufford. Each pattern is an experiment with re-peated type or geometric shapes, designed for application on a wide range of products, from pillows to coffee mugs.

The catalog is divided into three sections, representing three color palletes. Each color pallete was carefully cho-sen by Justin from an already limited and mathematically made pallete. By limiting the palletes, and then chosing only five to eight colors from the pallete, the designer was able to create some unexpected but also exciting color combinations to be applied to the designs. Each color pal-lete is then named and applied to two different patterns that the designer feels best suits them.

We’ve taken these patterns and applied them to various products shown here in our catalog.

So go ahead. Turn the page and take a look at what we have to offer.

Easter in JulyCookouts. Swim-ming pools. The beach. Easter eggs? Jelly beans? Usually you would categorize these words into two different categories, but Easter in July is a color pallete that delightfully rep-resents both spring and summertme.

Two geometric pat-terns were chosen for this color pal-lette. The checkered plus pattern has a

few variations in col-or. Different base colors can create a different mood to the pattern, even though they’re from the same color pallete.

Royal FlushA color pallette fit for a king. The color purple has always been associated with royalty, due to the high cost of creating the dye. Purple was reserved only for the most aristocratic of the population. Of corse, now-adays, it’s much easier to make products and clothing purple. However, the atmosphere of royalty remains.

This color pallete makes good use of a range of purples and magentas to red, with a golden accent to really give it that noble mood.

For this color pallete, two el-egantly designed typographic patterns were used. The 22 pat-tern, seen on the right, uses only the numeral 2 in the typeface

American Typewriter, repeated across the design. The colors were arranged by hand onto a grid, then transfered to the pattern, and placed on top of a purple background. A variation of this pattern can be found on the next page, which makes use of the shapes created in the neg-ative space between the 2s.

The second pattern only uses a capital S, arranged in a hex-agonal pattern. The negative space between the Ss create a sun-like shape, often accociated with royalty. Instead of using the whole pallete, this pattern has a very limited pallete of only three colors. Red was the base color for this pattern, and golden, wandering lines wander across the design, accented by a deep purple giving it a very rich and royal look. Even if you don’t live in a castle, products with the Royal Flush design will make you feel like a king.
