Research on intended program and University and specific IELTS band required in that program & Uni
Prepare an introduction to your research, look for and approach your future supervisor by email. Construct a research proposal.
Measure your opportunity (GFA, Non-GFA, Civil servant, Private), how you will contribute to institution/area to where you belong.
Fill in the form, read and revise multiple times. Get someone else to read and get it checked for you.

Research on the program you’d like to take. Why is it valuable for you/for Indonesia?
Research on your desired university/campus. Does your chosen university have mutual agreement (e.gresearch/seminars/project) with Indonesia? What drives you to choose that particular study area/uni? Have knowledge on every course items, explain how you think it will enrich your skills.
Be confident and firm of telling what you have done (personal achievements, publications), what you are doing, how will you apply knowledge after completing your Master’s/Phd’s.

STEPS FOR UNIVERSITY APPLICATION
▪ Every basic things you need to know is in the website. For HDR in Uni Adelaide, consider reading Research Student Handbook first.
▪ HDR has different kind of programs: PhD, Joint HDR programs, Professional Doctorate, Master of Philosophy, Master of Clinical Science, Higher doctorates.
▪ HDR programs typically have higher English Language Requirements than postgraduate coursework programs. For example 6.5 (Engineering, Professions) or 7.0 (Psychology,Arts) IELTS overall band score for HDR vs 6.0 for coursework.
▪ Other notable differences are research proposal and research publications are needed for HDR

▪ Before applying, it is recommended that you discuss your proposed research project and how it matches with the research interests of your school of enrolment.
▪ If you do not have particular supervisor(s) in mind, contact the head of school or postgraduate coordinator.
▪ Ask other research students who are supervised by these staff whether or not they are happy with the amount of support they have received.
▪ Might be necessary to consider external spv in Indonesia if huge amount of fieldwork in Indonesia is needed.

PREPARATION FOR UNIVERSITY APPLICATION
▪ Don’t miss(spelled) any documents! Especially IELTS so that you can get unconditional LoA (Letter of Acceptance).
▪ Following receipt of advice from the head of school about your suitability as an applicant and the availability of supervision and resources to support your candidature, a letter of offer (or refusal) will be forwarded to you.
▪ The time taken from application to the issue of a letter of offer (or refusal) is between two and four weeks.
▪ Have a digital copy for all necessary documents handy.
