• Dear Chairman, Vice Chairmen and Trustees of ISA:•  • We are greatly honored to have the opportunity to attend

the 4th ISA Conference here in Russia. While the conference is still in progress, we solemnly submit our application to ISA and its Board of Trustees for the 5th ISA Conference to be held in Qinghai Province, the People’s Republic of China. The Chamber of Commerce of Qinghai Province and Qinghai Tsinghua Biotry Bio-Tech Co., Ltd will be the sponsors for the 5th ISA Conference and the Department of Commerce of Qinghai Province will be the co-sponsor on behalf of the People’s Government of Qinghai Province.

Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is regarded as “the Third Pole” of the Earth remaining unpolluted, and it not only has great signality to China, but also has direct influences on the environment and climate of the world as a whole.

Snow Mountain & Meadow

• Located in the east of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Qinghai Province is the sources of major rivers like Yangtze River, Yellow River and Lantsang River, and China’s largest salt lake, Qinghai Lake, is also located in our province, thus Qinghai enjoys the reputation as “the Water Tower of China”, and it is an important water source and ecological barrier for China and also Asia.

• Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is also the original hometown of world seabuckthorn, and the areas of seabuckthorn resources in China account for 93% of the world. Seabuckthorn plays a very important role in ecology improvement and income increase of the local farmers and herdsmen, especially in the State campaign of “Grain for Green Project” and “the Three-North Shelter Forest Program”, seabuckthorn is the farmer’s first choice because of its ecological and economic benefits.

• The areas of seabuckthorn resources in Qinghai Province account for 10% of China, but the contents of Vitamin C and other effective active elements are much higher than those from other part of China.

• In Qinghai Province, there are different breeds of seabuckthorns, including subsp. sinensis, H. thibetana, H. neurocarpa and so on, with a characteristic of vast distribution. The development of Qinghai’s seabuckthorn industry occupies a very important position in China, with a rapid development in the recent years. In 2008, the export of our seabuckthorn compound extracts took a dominant position in the export of seabuckthorn products from China.

• Started from 2006, we have succeeded in cosponsor the Investment & Trade Fair of Qinghai Province and the Tour of Qinghai Lake International Road Cycling Race in 4 successive years, and our “Qinghaiqing” Brand Seabuckthorn Wine and Seabuckthorn Ice Wine are designated as the exclusive wine for the national fair and the international race by the People’s Government of Qinghai Province.
