Smart Manufacturing Solutions Application Description: Titanium Implant Bar Project Description Screw-retained dental implant restorations require extremely high tolerances throughout the machining process to ensure success once the part is placed in the patient’s mouth. The results obtained on a DATRON D5 LS mill will meet or exceed the fit and finish of implant bars that are produced by any of the major implant manufacturers worldwide. DATRON tools and parameters were used to machine the titanium bar with an accuracy of < 10 microns. Stock roughing uses a 3mm ballnose, as a 2mm and 1mm ballnose finished the bar profile and small pockets. Implant interface machining uses a combination of radius and non-radius 1.5mm endmills, while the screw channel counterbores are roughed using drills that range in size from 1.5-2.5mm, and are finished with long-reach (16mm) 1.5mm endmills. Project Description
Screw-retained dental implant restorations require extremely high tolerances throughout the machining process to ensure success once the part is placed in the patient’s mouth. The results obtained on a DATRON D5 LS mill will meet or exceed the fit and finish of implant bars that are produced by any of the major implant manufacturers worldwide.

Application example: titanium implant bar with superior fit and finish.
The DATRON D5 dental mill is designed for precision to milling of difficult materials like titanium with superior results. This makes it ideal for the production of implant bars and custom abutments.
Titanium Implant Bar
Highlights
Bar profile finishing:Contouring for smooth finish on organic shape
Implant machining:Ultra-high accuracy and sharp, 90˚ corners
Machining screw channels:Final dimension and sharp 90˚ corner for screw seat area/counterbore
Restmachining:Fine details and sharp corners on small diameter pockets
CAD/CAMThe compatibility of all DATRON machines with all common 3D-CAD/CAM programs is ensured by the DIN/ISO standard interface and an APT (CL-Print) interface.
