Dear sir, dear madam,
I am hereby applying, as an intern architect. I finished my studies in architecture (6 years) in July 2013. During the last
10 months I have been in two French architecture offices (internship and job). One was specialize in private housing
and local architecture and the second in commercial/health spaces and building (drugstores, vet, optic…) During both
of those experiences I could develop abilities for the job and I know that I have to continue in this direction, which is
to get experience in different agencies. Now I would like to discover new horizons of the profession, that’s why I’m
applying for an internship at your agency for a training period of 6 months minimum.
After one academic year in Stuttgart (Germany 2011/2012) where I could get a view of other architectural practice, I
got my master of architecture in France with a final school project about industrials brownfields and with presenting a
report about the perception of materials in architectural spaces. This past experience in a foreign country let me know
that I’m totally capable to adapt to another culture and to work with another language. Moreover I have to admit that
I like this type of challenge.
That’s why I focus on a new life project, which is to dive in a different work environment, where I could practice and
learn. Until I work as an intern architect and during my several internships, I discover the way to work in an architecture
office, it means to have good work pace, to meet deadlines, to be part of a teamwork and to be organized, and I blos-
somed in this environment. That’s why I would be highly motivated to get in your team.
It is clear that strong adaptation abilities and hard motivations are required. I have been pondering this project for a
long time and it has also been confirmed a few months ago by the discovery of the northeastern United States and
New York City. Moreover I have been taking privates English lessons for 4 months to improve and to be efficient at the
beginning of a possible internship period.
You need to know that I’m interested in every aspects of the architectural work and I would be willing to perform every
task for the success of a project and for the wellbeing of the office. I’m persuaded your agency would be a fulfilling
working and learning place.

I am writing to explore the possibility of participating in a training program in your company.
In regards to my legal eligibility to train with your organization, I would be participating in the J-1 Visa Internship USA
program, sponsored by the Council on International Educational Exchange [CIEE]. (www.ciee.org)
As my sponsor, CIEE is authorized by the U.S. government to issue the necessary documentation for me to obtain a
J-1 visa, which allows me to train legally in the U.S for up to 12 months. I will also arrive with my sponsor provided, full
coverage health insurance.
J-1 Visa participants are exempt from the following taxes :
