PROJECT GOOGLE LOONIf you thought internet is a global community accessible by all, then you will be surprised to know that two-third of people in the world do

not have access to the Internet. To tackle this problem, Google is launching Internet-beaming balloons into near space as part of an ambitious project to provide faster Internet to the world. Project

Loon, which was so far kept under wraps, was announced in New Zealand last month, and 50 volunteer households have already been connected. The homes are enjoying 3G-like speeds thanks to the helium balloons that sail about 20 Km above Earth. At the moment, the balloon project is still in the experimental stage, but the search giant has a lofty plan of launching thousands of them to bring the Internet to the most remote parts of the world. The technology is seen as an alternative to installing expensive fibre-optic cables in developing countries.

THE ALL NEW iOS 7 Everything has changed in Apple's redesigned mobile OS

pple showed up at the Worldwide Developers Conference with a host of new offerings, but the one that could make or Abreak the company's vast mobile fortunes, iOS 7, stood out the

most. As expected, Apple has t o r n i t s e l f a way f ro m skeuomorphic iconography and design. In fact, almost all corners of iOS have received spit and polish. Besides changing the look of the core apps to a m o r e m i n i m a l i s t i c interface—even the slide-to-unlock lockscreen has been dumped for a pull-the-screen-up style lockscreen—Apple has added a Control Center that mimics Android's quick toggles drawer, has a music and brightness controller, and app shortcuts. The Camera app has received effects filters, while multi-tasking has been spruced up with a card-based view of all open apps.

Apple also launched iTunes Radio, a music streaming service like Pandora, besides showing a new version of Siri, which can now do both male and female voices. The OS is currently in beta and is available for registered Apple developers. There's still a lot that could change between now and the final version, and it will be interesting to see how Apple reacts to some of the initial criticism. In addition, Apple also showed off the new OS X Mavericks operating system for its desktop products. The new OS brings deeper integration with iOS as well as the desktop versions of Apple Maps and iBooks. There was also an announcement for iWork for iCloud, which brings Google Docs-like productivity apps for word processing, spreadsheets and presentations through Safari.

Seagate Wireless PlusIf it weren't for tesla, we would probably not have wireless technology. This made geek started working on the wireless radio as early as 1891. However, in 2013, wireless technology is the norm just like Seagate's wireless hard drive. There's 1TB of space and a 10-hour battery life, plus a USB 3 port for those people who are not tesla fans. For the rest of you geeks who don't know who Tesla is.…For shame!

StormflyAllowing a child to use your Ultrabook is the digital equivalent of letting Vijay Mallya borrow your credit card. Unless, says B a r c e l o n a - b a s e d N o w Computing, you cuff said child

with a Stormfly USB bracelet. It contains a Linux build that uses your laptop's hardware but bypasses the hard drive (like a Windows To Go stick), so whatever dodgy links the nipper clicks on, it wont' get to your files. Works with any MAC or PC.

THE BIG QUESTION!

what is the difference between Antivirus, Internet security and Total security? Most of us think that antivirus is the ultimate thing to prevent malicious attacks on our beloved machines and that the internet security is a subset of anti-virus that finds its application only when you are linked to the Internet. Is it really true???? Let's enlighten ourselves today….

Antivirus is an application that simply scans for the signatures of any virus that it knows. It cannot prevent any virus that it does not recognize. On detection of a threat, it alerts the user and asks for the best course of action. Though, it might not be 100% accurate, it provides more security as compared to the old method.

On the other hand Internet security is not a single program, but is usually composed of more than one application that aims at providing total protection to its user. It has the Antivirus program along with the security from the threats that arose along with the internet age. Another application that is essential in an internet security suite is a firewall. A firewall restricts other people on the internet from gaining access to your computer or network by refusing connection requests and any other communications from the outside and even from applications that are running on your computer. There are also applications that can protect you from spyware programs that can send your personal and other information to entities outside and other types of malware.

Total security has the core protection elements like antivirus, AntiSpyware, AntiMalware, Anti-Rootkit, Silent Firewall, Intrusion Detection, Intrusion Prevention along with Email protection, Internet protection like AntiSpam, AntiPhishing, Web Security, Parental Control, etc. Pc optimisation tools are also included in this which completely secure your computer and data.

Thus, antivirus < Internet seciruty < Total security

Flexible DisplaysLG to start mass producing flexible displays later this year LG and Samsung have been in a close race to produce the first devices with flexible OLED d i s p l a y s . Samsung is working on bringing its Y u o m prototype to market by next year. But LG, it would seem, has beaten it t o t h e punch.“We have completed the develop-ment of our first flexible displays. We will mass produce flexible displays from the fourth quarter of this year,” LG told a Korean daily. The flexible displays will support up to ultra HD resolutions, commonly referred to as 4K. The applications for devices with flexible displays are numerous: besides smartphones and tablets, they have applications in wearables, which are likely to see an uptake in adoption and production next year. Besides being resilient to damage, bendable displays will also allow users to carry devices with more ease.
