Appetite says...This year we celebrated three years of Appetite serving up wonderful projects and spectacular performances across Stoke-on-Trent. We are thrilled to be sharing another three years with you and excited to see and hear what you think of this year’s hearty helpings. We’re surprising you with The Enchanted Chandelier by French company, Transe Express and we’re bringing back firm favourites with The Taster Tour, The Big Feast and Paines Plough’s Roundabout.
Each year we source the freshest ingredients for our events from local and national festivals and events. We hand-pick an extensive menu of artists and projects with people from community groups from across the city. We meet every month, we enjoy supper together, and that’s why we call it our “Supper Club”. At Supper Club we share opinions on what art we’d like to see in Stoke-on-Trent and help form the schedule of events that you’ll see in here and on the streets in the coming months.
Our Supper Club want the upcoming programme to include “mystery and surprise”, to be “funny, unusual and take you back to your childhood”. They want you to do “something different”, have “a good laugh’ and “create memories” with family, friends and strangers. Look out for “Appetite Says” which gives you a flavour of the shows from Appetite’s and Supper Club’s point of view.
We can’t wait to see you at our events.
Enjoy!Gemma Thomas, Appetite Creative Producer

Appetite is thrilled to bring you The Enchanted Chandelier, a bewitching outdoor musical concert like no other with flying, fire wielding, musical performers set to transform Central Forest Park. A vast chandelier suspended 50m above the park will slowly lift skywards to fly trapeze artists, bell ringers, singers, percussionists and acrobats through the night sky, ringing out spellbinding music across the city and mesmerising audiences below.
French company Transe Express bring their outdoor spectacle The Enchanted Chandelier, known in French as Maudits Sonnants, to Stoke-on-Trent. An unforgettable show that has been stunning crowds worldwide for over ten years.

BEES! The Colony by Artizani and Avanti DisplayBlue Clock, City Centre 1
What do bees get up to when they’re not buzzing? Welcome to a beehive like no other, tended to by two rather peculiar beekeepers. Wander amongst the honey-perfumed Bee Colony and you might find yourself looking into the vastness of space or catching a flick in the tiny bee cinema! Dare you look through the hole? Go on, you might be surprised by what you find. A multi-sensory interactive installation full of sweet surprises.
Appetite says... Did you know bees were big fans of spaghetti westerns? Discover the secret life of our humble honey loving friends! But watch out, there might just be a sting in the tail…
Pseudo SynchroATTENTION!!! Up, two, three, four, keep it up, two, three four… The Pseudo Synchro Swim Team are out and busy in training, being drilled by their swim captain with military precision and preparing for the biggest most spectacular synchronized swimming display of their lives (which takes place in a children’s paddling pool!). An interactive comedy dance act with a lot of splashing around and some bizarre bouncing bopper action!
Topiary TraumaMeet Daisy, Lawna and Mo, our glamorous 1950s housewives in sunny suburbia, who enjoy nothing more than a bit of baking and a quiet spot of gardening on a Sunday afternoon. But recently they have all been having some trouble with their topiary… are these ladies of leisure losing their minds or does the flora and fauna have a mind of its own…who knows!? A comedy dance performance for all the family.

Or if you’d prefer to watch from the sidelines, put your feet up on our garden furniture and watch life’s little miracles emerge from the ground.

Appetite is proud to be backing Stoke-on-Trent to become City of Culture in 2021
We will be supporting Stoke-on-Trent’s bid in every way we can and we hope you will too.
Being City of Culture would boost the local economy by attracting businesses and investment, increasing the number of visitors and creating jobs and developing skills.
City of Culture would bring plenty of smiles and moments of inspiration to Stoke-on-Trent, so do your bit and get behind the bid!
