Subject Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Sampling Interim Memorandum #1

Introduction

This interim update provides a summary of the field and laboratory procedures and results associated with monitoring activities conducted on June 19, 2014 for the Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Monitoring Project. Monitoring and laboratory analysis were conducted in accordance with the project Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP; Herrera 2014). A quality assurance review of the data collected was conducted and is summarized below. The laboratory data report and monitoring forms containing field data are attached.

Field Activities

Herrera conducted field measurements and water quality sampling at 11 monitoring sites on June 19, 2014, for Event 1 of the Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Monitoring Project. The field sampling team consisted of Matt Klara (Herrera) and Dorie Sutton (City of Vancouver). Samples and in situ water quality measurements were collected from each of the 11 sites without incident according to QAPP procedures.

A YSI 556 multimeter was used to collect in situ data. Data were downloaded from temperature probes located at each the eight temperature monitoring sites. The temperature data were checked for completeness and proper function.

Data Quality Summary

In general, procedures described and quality control criteria defined in the QAPP were met, resulting in no data qualification or corrective action with the following exceptions:

Six fecal coliform results were qualified as estimated based on plate counts being outside of the ideal range (i.e., 20 to 60 colonies).

One fecal coliform result was qualified as estimated based on field duplicate RPD.

Subject Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Sampling Interim Memorandum #2

Introduction

This interim update provides a summary of the field and laboratory procedures and results associated with monitoring activities conducted on July 9, 2014 for the Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Monitoring Project.

Herrera conducted field measurements and water quality sampling at 11 monitoring sites on July 9, 2014, for Event 2 of the Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Monitoring Project. The field sampling team consisted of Abbey Rhode (Herrera) and Dorie Sutton (City of Vancouver).

One temperature probe (BBC 1.6) had been removed from the stream and was found on the bank. The probe was checked for proper functioning and reinstalled in the stream.

Data Quality Summary

In general, procedures described and quality control criteria defined in the QAPP were met, resulting in no data qualification or corrective action with the following exceptions:

Five fecal coliform results were qualified as estimated based on plate counts being outside of the ideal range (i.e., 20 to 60 colonies).

One TSS result was qualified as estimated based on field duplicate RPD.

Memorandum

To Dorie Sutton, City of Vancouver

cc Rob Zisette, Herrera Environmental Consultants

From Abbey Rhode and Gina Catarra Herrera Environmental Consultants

Date October 13, 2014

Subject Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Sampling Interim Memorandum #3

Introduction

This interim update provides a summary of the field and laboratory procedures and results associated with monitoring activities conducted on August 5, 2014 for the Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Monitoring Project.

Herrera conducted field measurements and water quality sampling at 11 monitoring sites on August 5, 2014, for Event 3 of the Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Monitoring Project. The field sampling team consisted of Abbey Rhode (Herrera) and Dorie Sutton (City of Vancouver).

One temperature probe (BBC 5.9) was missing and was likely removed during vegetation management activities along the bank. This temperature probe was replaced with a tested backup probe. Another temperature probe (BBC 2.6) had a temperature reading that was 1 degree Celsius higher than the in situ measurement, and so the probe was moved to another location approximately 10 feet upstream to provide more shade, and an additional backup temperature probe was added to provide a second record of temperature in case of probe malfunction.

Data Quality Summary

In general, procedures described and quality control criteria defined in the QAPP were met, resulting in no data qualification or corrective action with the following exceptions:

Subject Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Sampling Interim Memorandum #4

Introduction

This interim update provides a summary of the field and laboratory procedures and results associated with monitoring activities conducted on August 25, 2014 for the Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Monitoring Project.

Herrera conducted field measurements and water quality sampling at 11 monitoring sites on August 25, 2014, for Event 4 of the Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Monitoring Project. The field sampling team consisted of Abbey Rhode (Herrera) and Dorie Sutton (City of Vancouver).

One temperature probe (BBC 1.6) had been removed from the stream and was found on the bank. The probe was checked for proper functioning and reinstalled in the stream on the opposite bank approximately 20 feet upstream in order to better conceal the probe.

Memorandum

To Dorie Sutton, City of Vancouver

cc Rob Zisette, Herrera Environmental Consultants

From Abbey Rhode and Gina Catarra Herrera Environmental Consultants

Date February 3, 2015

Subject Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Sampling Interim Memorandum #6

Introduction

This interim update provides a summary of the field and laboratory procedures and results associated with monitoring activities conducted on November 11, 2014 for the Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Monitoring Project.

Herrera conducted field measurements and water quality sampling at 11 monitoring sites on November 11, 2014, for Event 6 of the Burnt Bridge Creek 2014 Water Quality Monitoring Project. The field sampling team consisted of Abbey Rhode (Herrera) and Dorie Sutton (City of Vancouver).

Eight fecal coliform results were qualified as estimated based on plate counts being outside of the ideal range (i.e., 20 to 60 colonies).
