The new members were pledged in on September 9th and have been learning
all about AOII at their weekly meetings lead by New Member Educator, Tracey Nyguen, and
Assistant, Rachel Barnes. The girls have bonded through their new
member retreat and their participation in philanthropy events such as the
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. In addition, the baby pandas have been
getting to know the older girls through weekly Special Stella dates! Big
Sisters have been selected, and the chapter is anxiously awaiting Big Sister/ Little Sister Reveal on
November 1st!
Chapter Chat The chapter has also been active around the Greek Community! The AOIIs placed second at Pi Kappa Alpha’s annual Pike Fest. The girls
dominated in activities such as Tug-of-War, Egg Toss, and many more! Also, on September 25th, the Kappa Deltas hosted a Friendship Dinner for all of the sororities on campus! There were
different vendors selling Greek products, and many door prizes were
given out. It was a great opportunity to spend time with the other Greek girls!
In addition, AOII is the intermural Soccer Champions, dominating all
competitors! Since our Warhawks are doing so great this football season, the AOIIs have been proudly supporting them! The
girls love to make their favorite dishes to share with chapter at every
tailgate! AOIIs never lack Warhawk spirit!
A Message From Our President… Dear proud AOII parents,
Hi! My name is Katie Nicosia and I am the Lambda Tau Chapter President!
Lambda Tau has started off the semester great! During AOII’s formal
recruitment, we picked up 36 new members! It would not have been possible without your generous
donations! I would like to thank you for supporting us during our busiest time of year, and please know that it was, and still is, greatly appreciated! The
rest of the semester will be fun filled and full of ULM and AOII sprit! With
homecoming approaching, AOII is excited to continue supporting the Warhawks! The new members will officially become actives in Alpha
Omicron Pi in early November when initiation is held! Roseball, our fall formal where our new members are
presented, will be November 10, 2012, and I know every girl is looking for the perfect dress….and date! Soon, we will start preparing for the annual Greek Songfest, and I know each member participating will work hard to make
sure we keep the trophy! With all the exciting events approaching I am excited to watch the Lambda Tau chapter participate and show their
school and sorority sprit!
Alpha Love, Katie Nicosia
