FROM the DOM: How often do we expect God to work in incredible ways?

Do we expect Him to display His power in our lives and in the ministry of our

churches?

We preach and teach that our God is Omnipotent. He has the power to do

whatever is within His will and purpose. We teach that He can transform our

lives, our churches, and our communities. Surely, every true, born-again child

of God believes this. But the question is how do we live in light of this truth?

We read about the miracles in Scripture and are awed by His great power,

but do we expect to see it in tangible ways today?

We shake our heads in affirmation when we hear the stories of how Jeho-

vah God worked in the lives of Old Testament saints. We read the New Testa-

ment and are touched by the miracles of Jesus, the conversion of Paul, Paul

unaffected by a deadly snake bite, Peter walking out of jail without a single

soldier aware of it. But we remind ourselves that was a different day and a

different time.

Ezekiel had a vision of a valley of dry bones. The prophet, in obedience to the Lord, spoke to the bones and they came together and he prophesied to the breath and life came into them. Then the Lord interprets the vision to say they are the whole house of Israel and He adds, “…: behold they say, Our bones are dried and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.” I won-dered recently if we do not often live with the mindset ‘our hope is lost’. But that is only true if the Lord has changed and He no longer loves us and He no longer has a purpose for our lives and for His churches. Praise God, there is hope! That hope is in found in the Lord Jesus Christ. Rise up today and determine to live in the victory that is ours by virtue of our union with Him. Let us pray earnestly that He will demonstrate His power in and through us as believers and through the churches where he has entrust-ed us to serve. By His Grace, Bro. Kevin
