MY BROTHER’S KEEPER MINISTRY

Seniors, do you need a ride to the doctor or grocery store? Please give us at least 3 days notice. This is a free service to

all our senior parishioners. We are not able to drive for surgery or if anes-thesia is involved. Call Linda at 847-439-5372.

Extension 129

The Feast of Christ the King was

established by Pope Pius XI in 1925 as an antidote

to secularism, a way of life which leaves God out of

man's thinking and living and organizes his life as if

God did not exist. The feast is intended to proclaim

in a striking and effective manner Christ's royalty

over individuals, families, society, governments,

and nations.

Today's Mass establishes the titles for Christ's roy-

alty over men: 1) Christ is God, the Creator of the

universe and hence wields a supreme power over all

things; "All things were created by Him"; 2) Christ

is our Redeemer, He purchased us by His precious

Blood, and made us His property and possession; 3)

Christ is Head of the Church, "holding in all things

the primacy"; 4) God bestowed upon Christ the na-

tions of the world as His special possession and do-

minion.

Today's Mass also describes the qualities of Christ's

kingdom. This kingdom is: 1) supreme, extending

not only to all people but also to their princes and

kings; 2) universal, extending to all nations and to

all places; 3) eternal, for "The Lord shall sit a King

forever"; 4) spiritual, Christ's "kingdom is not of

this world". — Rt. Rev. Msgr. Rudolph G. Gandas Source: http://www.catholicculture.org/culture/liturgicalyear/calendar/day.cfm?date=2017-11-26

Prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory by St. Gertrude the Great

“Eternal Father,

I offer You the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus,

in union with the Masses said throughout the world today,

for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere,

for sinners in the universal Church,

for those in my own home,

and in my family. Amen.”

Our Parish Life and Faith Formation Commissions are pleased to offer 33 Days to Morning Glory.Through this self-guided retreat (using the book 33 Days to Morning Glory and by attend-ing a weekly meeting or viewing an online video), a person commits to spiritual reading and prayerful pondering with a Marian focus.

Our December meetings are to be determined. Please contact Lisa Mersereau if you have any ques-tions. Lisa's e-mail is [email protected].
