Eucalyptus 2016 Term 4 Week 7 “Hey everybody, you’re doing a good job!” Oscar Together we built a rocket! We unpacked a special box of ‘straws and connectors’ which come with instruc:ons to create many different objects. We voted to find out if we should make a tent or a rocket. With the laAer being most popular we soon began this challenge. This experience strengthened the children’s communica:on and teamwork skills including coopera:on, listening, sharing and turn-taking. Addi:onally they further developed their understanding of size and shape, which are important mathema:cal concepts. Both teachers remained as quiet as possible and encouraged the children to talk to each other and decide on what needed to be done to complete the instruc:ons. The result was a perfectly constructed rocket which the children admired with obvious pride.
