ABOUT INSTITUTE OF PHARMACY
The pharmaceutical sciences is a dynamic and interdisciplinary
field that combines a broad range of scientific disciplines
that are critical to the discovery and development of new drugs
and therapies. Over the years, pharmaceutical scientists
have been instrumental in discovering and developing innovative
drugs that save people's lives and improve the quality of
life.
NIPiCON was initiated in a year 2013 to offer a common platform
for academicians, researchers, industrialists, clinical
practitioners and young budding pharmacists to share their ideas
and research work and finally emerge with new
concepts, innovations and novel strategies for various
challenges in the pharmaceutical field.
rdThe 3 International Conference, NIPiCON 2016 aims to provide a
knowledge sharing experience in the area of “Global
Challenges in Drug Discovery, Development and Regulatory
Affairs”.
Pharmaceutical innovation is a complex creative process that
harnesses the application of knowledge and creativity for
discovering, developing and bringing to clinical use, new
medicinal products that extend or improve the lives of
patients.
A successful pharmaceutical R&D process is one that
minimizes the time and cost needed to bring a compound from the
scientific ‘idea’, through discovery and clinical development,
to final regulatory approval and delivery to the patient. This
conference will provide an open forum for the academicians,
researchers, clinicians and professionals of pharmaceutical
industry to enrich their knowledge in the area of drug
discovery, development and its regulatory requirements.
The conference features plenary sessions which will be delivered
by eminent national and international speakers from
different disciplines of pharmaceutical field. In addition,
there will be invited lectures and sessions delivered by
distinguished and young researchers in their respective fields
during parallel technical sessions. The conference will also
provide the opportunity to scientists and research scholars from
various organizations to put forth their innovative ideas
and research findings by means of deliberations, discussions and
poster presentations.
Institute of Pharmacy is a leading institute in the western
region of the country with an insight to promote excellence in
pharmaceutical education by imparting quality education at
undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral levels.
Institute of Pharmacy groom young students to meet the
diversified challenges in the area of pharmaceutical
industries, education, research and development and marketing
with supreme professional standards. The Institute
had received more than 3 crore rupees grant from various
external funding agencies like DST, DBT, ICMR and GUJCOST.
The institute has also collaboration with research institutes
and industries like Plovdiv University, Bulgaria, B.V. Patel
PERD Center, Ahmedabad, Cadila Pharmaceutical Research Center,
Ahmedabad, Intas Pharmaceuticals Ltd.,
Ahmedabad, Piramal Pharmaceutical Development Services (P) Ltd.,
Ahmedabad, Ayurlab Herbal Pvt Ltd., Vadodara,
Apollo Hospitals International Limited, Ahmedabad, Confederation
of Indian Industries (CII), Ahmedabad and
Beiersdorf, Germany etc. The Institute houses state-of-art
analytical instruments like FT-IR, Fluorescence Spectrometer,
Raman Spectrometer, UV-Spectrophotometer, HPLC, GC, Texture
Analyzer, Automated dissolution apparatus, SFC &
SFE, Microwave synthesizer, Biochemical analyzer, etc. The
Institute also has a conventional two-storey animal house
facility registered by CPCSEA, Government of India with
incineration facility and a medicinal plant garden “Nirma
Herbal Wealth” covering a total area of 3384.5 sq. meters with
more than 175 species and more than 500 plants.
Institute have very high intellect faculty members who are
actively involved in research, consultancy, testing and
supported financially with sponsored projects from different
government as well as private organizations.
Nirma University (NU) was established in the year 2003 as a
Statutory University under a Special Act passed by the
Gujarat State Legislative Assembly. The University Grants
Commission (UGC) has recognized Nirma University under
Section 2(f) and the University is also accredited by National
Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Nirma
University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities
(AIU) and the Association of Commonwealth
Universities (ACU). In addition to Institute of Pharmacy, other
constituent institutes of the University include Institute of
Technology, Institute of Management, Institute of Science,
Institute of Law and Institute of Architecture. The 125-acre
sprawling green campus with serene picturesque landscape
provides refreshing environment for intellectual and
creative activities. Excellent hostel and transport facilities
are available along with a bank, dining halls, canteen, student
store, yoga hall, health center, gymnasium and sports ground on
the campus.

The abstracts (research as well as review) in the mentioned
thrust areas are invited. The paper must be an original
contribution that has not been published previously or not under
consideration for publication or presentation elsewhere.
Abstract can be submitted online to www.nipicon.org on or before
November 30, 2015 as per the format available on the
conference website. All abstracts will be reviewed by the
Scientific Review Committee and intimation of the acceptance
will be sent to the presenting author through email by December
10, 2015. All accepted posters will be presented at
Poster presentation session during the conference. Presenting
authors have to register themselves for the conference on
receipt of acceptance mail, if not, the abstract will be
cancelled and will not be considered for publication in abstract
book.

ACCOMMODATION
• Nirma University campus is about 15 km from Ahmedabad city on
Sarkhej – Gandhinagar Highway. The lush green
campus, conducive for intellectual pursuits is well connected to
Ahmedabad Airport (20 km), Railway Station (16
km) and State Transport Bus depot (17 km). It is well connected
by road also to neighboring states with local
transport and taxi facilities. The weather of Ahmedabad is very
pleasant during the Month of January with the Otemperature ranging
between 20-25 C.
• In spite of being the rapidly growing Industrial centers in
India, Ahmedabad is one of the liveliest and largest city of
Gujarat state with a population of about 5.5 million. The city
has developed itself into a leading economic capital of
Gujarat.
• Ahmedabad is a city of festivals like Navratri (garba),
Diwali, Kite Festival and many more being celebrated round
the year. Many places of tourist interest like Gandhi Ashram,
Adalaj Vav (Step well), Sidi Saiyyed Mosque with
historic importance as well as Mahatma Mandir, Science city and
Akshardham Temple, River Front are situated in
and around Ahmedabad.
