We were able to supply over 400 items for Social Services to distribute. Well done Moose members! Your generosity is very much appreciated. Our annual dinner honoring the North Port Police and Fire Rescue Departments will be held on Saturday, September 3. The menu is baked ham, green beans, macaroni and cheese, and roll. Representatives will be in the Lodge and will take back prepared dinners for their on-duty personnel. We will serve dinner in the Lodge from 5-7 PM. Please join us in showing appreciation for our dedicated North Port emergency staff. After dinner on September 3 we will hold a Pound Auction, which is always fun and back by popular demand. Each item up for auction might be a wonderful gift, a pound of fudge, or a pound of pennies. If you would like to donate, get creative and bring a gift-wrapped item weighing approximately one pound to be auctioned to the highest bidder. Like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get! Nosh night in September is Sunday, August 25 from 4-6 PM. Bring a dish to share or buy the wonderful buffet. After dinner will be Show Me The Money and door prizes. MERCY, SAVE THE DATE! October 22 will be a special night for dinner and entertainment headlined by Mike T, a well-known Roy Orbison impersonator with 5-star reviews, and will include other artists with music from that era. Tickets will be on sale in the Social Quarters. We expect a packed house for this event, so don’t delay! I hope everyone who signed up is Ready for Some Football. Don't forget that you can come out and watch your favorite team in season. While watching the game you can relax, cheer and enjoy a great lunch. Don't forget about our Queen of Hearts on Wednesday which is at 6:00 and our Meat Bingo at 7:00 on Thursdays. Come out and enjoy lunch and dinner. Wayne is running lunchtime specials Wednesday through Friday. Please remember “Always be proud to show your Moose Card”. Annual First Responder Dinner
On Saturday, September 3 the Women of theMoose and Loyal Order of the Moose willrecognize members of the North Port Police andFire-Rescue Departments. This event is to honorthe men and women who are our first respondersto emergencies here in the City of North Port.
All members of the Lodge are welcome andencouraged to attend. We will be providing a hamdinner to the first responders who will take theprepared meals back to their duty stations. Lodgemembers can buy dinner from 5 - 7 PM and thenstay for an exciting Pound Auction after dinner.

The 10th annual Day for Kids event will beheld September 24 at the Gene Matthews
Boys & Girls Club located at 6851S. Biscayne Drive, North Port.
A free event, Day for Kids is a nationalcelebration of kids where communitiesand families come together to honor
children under a single premise: adults who spendmeaningful time with kids fulfill one of the most basicneeds in a child’s healthy development. This freecommunity event will feature fun-filled games,activities and food for the entire family to enjoy.
“As in past years, Day for Kids will be a great event forthe community to enjoy,” says Wayne Ard, GeneMatthews Club Director. This year’s event includes araffle of a vintage 1990 Corvette pace car used in theIndianapolis 500. Only 1,500 tickets available at $20each. The money raised will go back into our Club tohelp the kids we serve every day.

Final meeting of FBMA District 24 isSeptember 10, 2016 at Gulf Cove Lodge #2554.Following a statewide reorganization of Moosedistricts, District 24 will be dissolved and alllodges in that district are now in District 22.Except for the new district number, nothing elsehas changed in the makeup of the district.
Beginning in October, Lodge Administrator KenLipp will become president of FBMA District 22.The meetings still take place on the secondSaturday of every month at 12 noon. The meetinglocation is on a rotating schedule between all sixDistrict 22 Lodge. Members are encouraged toattend a District 22 meeting to learn about eventsat local Lodges.
