American Overseas Dietetic AssociationInternational Project Award: The purpose of thisfund is to foster collaboration and the sharing ofknowledge and skills among food and nutritionprofessionals in the international community. An awardwill be given to AODA members who intend to work inpartnership with another food or nutrition professionalon a project that will benefit the local community ofone of the individuals. The premise is that the AODAmember and colleague will have somewhat differentknowledge and skill sets that, when brought together,will serve to fulfill a special project. Award amount:$3,000First International Nutritionist/Dietitian (FIND)Fellowship for Study in the USA. This award is givento assist foreign nationals who are pursuingpostgraduate work in the USA and have a clearlyarticulated plan to return to their country. Awardamount: $2,000.WimpfheimerGuggenheim Fund for InternationalExchange in Nutrition, Dietetics andManagement. This award is given to provide for theinternational exchange of needed nutrition, dieteticand/or management information for the benefit of thenutritional health of the world community. Up to twoawards may be given. Award amount: $1,000.
March is National Nutrition Month® in the USA. Use theAcademy tools to spread the message internationally. Planand organize local events, both large and small, in multiplevenues for all types of audiences and help spread the word to"Eat Right, Your Way, Every Day!" Then, let us know whatyou did and what sort of impact it had.
Submission for Changes or Additions to theAcademy's International Dietetics and NutritionTerminology (IDNT) Welcome
In 2014, the Academy will publish the next edition ofthe International Dietetics and Nutrition Terminology (IDNT)Reference Manual. The current IDNT, Fourth Edition debutedin August 2012 and is available at www.eatright.org/shop.
Submissions for changes or additions to the standardizedlanguage are due on or before March 31, 2013. Countries ororganizations, in the U.S. and internationally, need notsubmit as a group (e.g., country, practice or other);individual submissions are welcome. Further, groupsubmissions do not need unanimous support. Majority andminority opinions may accompany the submission. TheNutrition Care Process/Standardized Language (NCP/SL)Committee will review the submissions between April andDecember 2013.
The Procedure to Submit Changes to the NCPVocabulary details the necessary components of asubmission and is available on theAcademy website. Submissions and questions can bedirected to Donna Pertel, [email protected].
