Slope all sides at 45 degrees.
GENERAL TREE PLANTING NOTES:1. All labels, wires, twine and other binding materials are to be
removed from tree and root ball prior to backfilling.2. Water immediately following planting. Tree shall be thoroughly

PLAN
Planting hole depth to be 100mm below the depth of the rootball, in circumstances where water logging may be an issue, thedepth of the hole to be two thirds (2/3) the depth of the root ball.
3 No. 50 x 50 x 2400mm hwd or recycled plasticstakes set vertically and clear of rootball andminimum 800mm into ground. Stakes are to be offsetfrom the nearest underground service a minimum of200mm to ensure no damage is caused tounderground service.Trunk
Rootball
3 No. 50mm wide hessian ties wrapped around thetrunk at 1/3 tree height and stapled / nailed to stakesallowing some trunk movement.Looped in a figure '8' as shown.
All trees to be healthy specimens free of pests and diseases. Trees to bewell watered a maximum of 24 hours before planting.

3 No. 50mm wide hessian ties wrapped around the trunk at 1/3 tree heightand stapled / nailed to stakes allowing some trunk movement. Looped in afigure '8' as shown.
Create dish to keep mulch clear of trunk. Top of rootball to be flush withfinished level of planting hole.
150mm depth of approved mulch shall be spread a minimum of Ø1200mmfrom centre of tree and beyond the edge of the planting hole overlappingundisturbed soil, where tree is planted in grass
75mm high berm to form a watering basin
Excavate a shallow planting hole with sloping sides 3 times the width of therootball and break up sides and base. Depth of the planting hole to be nodeeper than the height of the rootball. Backfill with site-stockpiled topsoilto specification, broken up to friable texture, firming progressively. Importedtopsoil where quantity of site topsoil insufficient. Improved as specified.Water retaining product to be mixed into backfilled soil as permanufacturer's specification, refer landscape specification for product andreference.
Break up sides and base of excavation to 100mm. Planting holes to bewatered prior to the setting of trees.

2.Apply fertiliser in base of hole, cover with topsoil as specified. Avoid root contact.3.Place plant in centre of hole, backfill with approved topsoil, firming and progressively.4.Water well into saucer around crown of plant.5.Stake larger shrubs where necessary, using 50 x 50 x 1200mm. hardwood stakes.6.Ensure 500mm offset from path edge.
Low cover / shrub planting as specified. Refer plantingplan & schedule.Mounded watering saucer around base of plant. Ensureno build up of soil or mulch around plant stem.Lightly consolidate over rootball. Do not compact.
