The Mi-35 is primaril y designed as a combat helicop ter with secondary capability of military transport missions delivering superior flight performance characteristics and mano euvra bili ty function. It can carry a wide range of weaponry like anti-tank guided missiles, unguided rocket pods, short range air to air missiles, gun pods and free fall bombs. Destruction of enemy armoured vehicles being its primary duties, it is armed with Ataka or the older Shturm anti-tank guided missiles with a range of up to 8 kilometres to carry 80 80mm rockets or 20 122mm rockets. The Hind-E helicopter has a twin-barrelled 23mm gun. The Mi-35 has been widely hail ed as an excell ent ad di ti on to form the ba ckbo ne of a more mo dern attack helicopter fleet of Pakistan.
