* Even the highest offices of political & judicial sphere have been tainted by the evil of corruption as it is evidenced through the Bofors gun deal, the Justice Ramaswamy impeachment move & the multicrore securities scam
INTRODUCTION:
* Moral fabric of our society has been destroyed as even education and religion are not free from the cancer of corruption
* Corruption breeds from the top, gradually filters down to the lower levels thus eating into the vitals of the society
* INDIA is ranked 90 out of 145 countries that were evaluated for levels of corruption by Transparency international in 2005
* In INDIA corruption is rampant in every walks of life i.e In the Courts, the Police, the Revenue agencies, the health services, the professions & even the educational institutions etc.,

* ONE NEEDS TO QUESTION WHETHER MAJOR CORRUPTION IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN THE MINOR CORRUPTION?
* Corruption is defined as abuse of trust in the interest of private gain.
* It can be divided into five broad types.
1. TRANSACTIVE2. EXTORTIVE3. DEFENSIVE4. INVECTIVE5. NEPOTISTIC
* It refers to the mutual arrangement between donor and recipient to the advantage of , and actively persuade by both the parties.
* This normally involves business man and Government offices.
TRANSACTIVE TYPE:
* This is a kind where donor is compelled to bribe in order to avoid harm being inflicted upon his persons , his interest, or upon those persons or things dear to him.
EXTORTIVE TYPE:
* THIS IS CORRUPTION OF EXTORTIVE TYPE!
* THIS CORRUPTION IS IN SELF DEFENSE!
EXTORTIVE TYPE:
* This involves offer of goods and services without any direct link to a particular favour but in anticipation of future events when the favour will be required.
INVESTIVE TYPE:
* This type of corruption involves unjustified appointment of relatives or friends to public office or according them favour treatment, in pecuniary or other forms, violating the norms and rules of the organisation.
