Truth be told, this was coming for some time. However, the emergence of Asia as a glob- al economic hub has trig- gered behavioral and mind- set changes that promise to radically reshape the health- care landscape across Asia. Asia is without doubt the new epicentre of the global economy, but its aging popu- lace combined with a longer life expectancy poses a new set of formidable challenges to surmount. Recent surges in age-related healthcare re- quirements and the preva- lence of non-communicable diseases has put further stress on healthcare provid- ers to cope, and Govern- ments have responded to this by boosting budgetary spends on healthcare infra- structure and services while inviting private players make further investments in the sector. With around 60% of the global population calling Asia home, it represents a golden opportunity for healthcare providers. After the stupendous success of the 1st edition of The Eco- nomic Times Best Health- care Brands, we have built on this by launching the exclu- sive Economic Times Best Asian Healthcare Brands 2017 coffee table book, which was launched at The Eco- nomic Times India-UAE Strategic Conclave in Dubai on 27th and 28th September under the patronage and in the presence of H.E.
