4 FERRIS STATE UNIVERSITY | CHARTER SCHOOLS OFFICE

As Director of the Ferris State University Charter Schools Office (CSO) and on behalf of the entire CSO team, it is my pleasure to present the 2018-2019 Annual Report. This report is a summary of a great deal of information about the academic, fiscal, Board and operational performance of each academy authorized by FSU. Even so, the data contained in this report is but a small snapshot of the data we annually provide to each academy. We ask readers to note that more comprehensive and historical information for each individual academy can be found on our website: www.ferris.edu/charterschools. The data for this report has been gathered from the 2018-2019 Contract Performance Reports which can also be found on each academy’s page on the website.

Ferris State University is now in its 22nd year of authorizing public school academies, and the responsibility for oversight of each academy is a matter of pride for the CSO. However, the CSO views its role more broadly than simply watching over the academies authorized by the University. Our Mission Statement also speaks about providing relevant resources and professional learning opportunities for each of our academies. Besides sponsoring workshops and webinars, the CSO provides each academy with a wealth of summative and formative performance data in the hopes that it will assist Boards and academy staff with crucial decision making.

Our oversight is a strongly collaborative effort among members of the CSO team and it is my pleasure to introduce those members to you:

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the Ferris State University Charter Public School Academies and the fine work being accomplished by each of our Boards of Directors and academy staff.

Sincerely,

Ronald Rizzo, Ph.D. Director
