Dear Friends of Havern,
I love teamwork! I thoroughly enjoy working with others towards a common goal; the feeling of synergy and achieving something that could never have been accomplished alone.
Thanks to the combined efforts of the exceptional and dedicated individuals that comprise the Havern community, this year has been an extraordinary example of teamwork at Havern School.
The Board of Trustees is successfully steering the school through these turbulent economic times while planning for a bright future. Despite financial insecurity and some very real challenges, many generous donors and contributors not only maintained levels of giving but stepped it up this year; making it possible to continue the singular program we provide our students AND to make some wonderful new additions.
The Havern staff always amazes me with their dedication, caring and creativity. From the classroom teachers and therapists, to the administrative staff and the Head of School, they are truly Havern School’s most valuable players!
Thank you for a successful year, but the next season is already upon us. I hope you will be a member of our winning team as we support and cheer on Havern School and, most importantly, our students.

Dear Havern Families and Friends,
2008-2009 was a remarkable year at Havern School!
Each day we learned new lessons from our students as they modeled their remarkable commitment to learning through tenacity and a willingness to strive toward their goals despite the challenges presented by learning disabilities. It was an inspiring experience to witness the teachers and therapists as they worked with students to help them achieve success at school and in life beyond the hallways of Havern School.
During the year, two school musicals provided all students with opportunities to showcase their acting and musical talent. Upper school classrooms presented an enthusiastic performance of On the Radio, a collage of songs from each decade of the 20th century. The downstairs classrooms charmed the audience with their adorable production of Bugz, a musical about problem-solving and learning to get along with others. Students also participated in the annual art show, science fair, student council, school spirit days, buddy breakfasts, and the Havern School community Thanksgiving luncheon.
The first Annual Havern Hustle provided the perfect celebration for the final day of our 43rd year (2008-2009)! This high-energy event exemplified the strong sense of community that is the hallmark of Havern School. Participants in the “race” around Clement Park’s lake included staff, students, siblings, parents, grandparents, friends, and even a few pets.
Havern School truly is a partnership of professionals, parents, families, and friends working together to address the individual academic, social, and emotional needs of our students. We are grateful for the energy, time and resources that Havern School received this year from our wide circle of friends and supporters.
Warmly, Cathleen Pasquariello, M.EdHead of School
About Havern School
OUR HISTORY
Havern School was founded in 1966 by the Sisters of Loretto in Littleton, Colorado. The Sisters recognized that children with learning disabilities can succeed as students when they are provided with the appropriate environment. The Sisters created a specialized curriculum, which along with small class size, encouragement and support, enabled their students to reach their learning potential. Building on this strong foundation, Havern became an independent, secular school governed by a Board of Trustees in 1970.
TODAY HAVERN IS A NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL.
Havern School is a co-educational day school offering programs for students from ages 5 to14. We develop the skills of our students by focusing on their strengths while addressing individual learning challenges. We believe strongly in the ability of every child to learn and we utilize a whole-child approach to reach this goal.

Fundraising at Havern
THERE ARE TWO DISTINCT FUNDRAISING ENTITIES AT HAVERN.
Parents for Havern Fundraisers Money raised through Parents for Havern programs is used to enrich the learning environment and foster a sense of community at the school.
Havern School Fundraisers Money raised through these Havern School events supports general operating costs and specific projects. Havern School fundraisers include:
• The Annual Fund Campaign - Revenue from the Annual Fund campaign is used to supplement the budget for annual operating costs.
• The Spring Garden Party - Money raised at this event is used to underwrite specific school improvements.
• The “Chip-in-for-Havern” Golf Tournament - 100% of proceeds from the golf tournament is used to provide scholarships for Havern students. 5
Annual Fund
Tuition covers 80% of the cost of educating a Havern student.
Gifts to the Annual Fund provide Havern with unrestricted, expendable resources to help supplement the budget for general operating costs.
The Annual Fund Campaign is held in the fall/winter. The goal of this vital fundraiser is to achieve 100% participation from the Havern Board of Trustees, staff, and families. No gift is too small to make a difference and to earn our sincere gratitude.
In 2008-09, participation levels were
