Dear Friends,

In a Mission like Show-Me, we daily witness the brokenness of the world and how it affects children. Yet, we also get to witness the victories that result when God and His people invest themselves to change the world for children.

The Show-Me Mission? Simply, Rescue & Restore young lives.

• Rescue young lives from abuse & neglect. Restore them to the safe, stable, nurtured life that God intended for them.

• Rescue them from a false foundation of security. Restore them to whole health: physically, emotionally, spiritually.

• Rescue them from the lies of who they “are” or “will become.” Restore them to the truth of who God says they are and who they were created to be.

• Rescue them from academic failures. Restore them to a path toward educational success.

• Rescue them from the cycle of hopelessness & despair. Restore young lives to hope and purpose.

And, we do this through you. Show-Me is determined to be a mission accomplishing God’s work through God’s people. We don’t want it any other way. We want to show these awesome kids -- and the world -- what God does though His people.

Thank you for your investment to this end!.

Believing in Their Best,

Chad Puckett, Director

Show-Me Christian Youth Home is dedicated to improving the lives of children struggling because of circumstances in their current home environment. Since 1967, we have helped rescue young lives in crisis by offering Christ-centered residential care, educational and therapeutic services allowing them to break the cycle of despair and find their God-given path to purpose. We restore to these children – neglected, abandoned, and abused– the foundational tools for a better tomorrow: a Home, a Family, a Future, and a Faith.

Show-Me works holistically to provide each child an individualized approach to help them begin the process of healing the hurts from their past to building a successful future. Each child is placed in a Christ-centered, traditional family setting. Families attend the church of their choice, where the kids are encouraged to participate in youth group, Sunday School, VBS and other activities. For those children who may need some additional emotional support, we provide regular professional counseling sessions. Children receive support from not only their houseparents, but the entire Show-Me family.

A Customized Christian EducationThe Show-Me Christian School offers an individualized, self-paced academic option using the Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) program. In addition to core subjects, the curriculum includes Scripture memorization and biblical principles - all designed to help develop moral character, a sense of accountability and widsom.

Equipped with laptops and the latest technological tools, the new Path to Purpose Career Center serves as a classroom, conference area, and computer lab to aid students in their career exploration and life skills training.

Houseparents can now safely give driving lessons to our teens using our Driver’s Ed vehicle equipped with a dual brake system.

More than just helping our young people see a career path and sending them off for continued training, the Path to Purpose program provides the necessary resources and encouragement to keep them moving forward when they meet the inevitable obstacles along the way. A year from its introduction, the program is creating opportunities for our youth in the following ways:

To be the more efficient stewards of the tremendous gifts we have been given, we are consolidating some of our remote satellite units. The generosity and commitment of those who donated their property and homes will be commemorated by establishing new homes in their honor at our largest locations. These new homes will establish new campus communities and on-site support networks at each geographic location.

• Camdenton - Since the new highway was constructed nearly through the backyard, we discontinued our program due to safety concerns. The facility had been leased to Lighthouse ministries, who purchased this property in January. To honor Ned and Louis Reed, we are establishing a second home at our large farm unit in Barnett.

• Sheridan Ranch - Show-Me discontinued operating the Sheridan home in 2011 and returned the property to the Sheridan Christian Church. Isolated four hours away from our main campus, providing resources, support, and accountability to the family there became extremely difficult and costly.

• El Dorado Springs - We are in the process of selling the unit at El Dorado Springs, allowing the new Plunket home to be established at the Emerald Ranch in Goodman in honor of Ralph and Dora Plunket.

Additional Future Plans include:• Launch of Leadership U - A new therapeutic, character-building program to

develop self-confidence, teamwork, and a strong work ethic by training horses and dogs. The program, led by Nathan Smith, enables children to experience the importance of love, trust and discipline from the caregiver’s perspective as they train and provide for the needs of their animals.
