1 ANNUAL MEETING INFORMATION The Southern California Vascular Surgical Society's 35th Annual Meeting will be held May 5-7. 2017. The meeting returns to the beautiful Omni Ranchos Las Palmas Resort in Rancho Mirage, CA. The Meeting commences with the Welcome Reception on Friday evening, May 5 th . Scientific Sessions will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 6 th and 7 th . A casual Buffet Dinner will be held on Saturday evening, May 6 th for all registrants. The 35th Annual meeting will conclude with the SCVSS Member Business Meeting on Sunday morning, May 7 th . This premier Rancho Mirage resort, just a short drive from Palm Springs and seven other distinct Coachella Valley cities, is convenient to the world famous Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and other major tourist attractions, El Paseo shopping that has been compared to Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and fine dining at a stunning number of local and chain restaurants. The 35th Annual Meeting qualifies for Self-Assessment Credit that meets the ABS requirements for MOC Part 2 for
Topics will be presented which relate to the clinical treatment vascular surgery patients. Presentations will focus
on best surgical practice and expert opinion. At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:
1. Describe alternative treatment modalities for paravisceral and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms (TAAA)
with the available endovascular devices available.
2. Recognize the lack of availability of endografts designed specifically to address paravisceral/TAAA; and
recognize that this is emerging therapy and long-term durability must be conclusive.
3. Critically evaluate the indications for perioperative cardiac evaluation in patients undergoing non-cardiac
surgery.
4. Discuss the importance of autogenous dialysis access vs prosthetic access and describe techniques how
to preserve failing autogenous access and avoid tunneled catheters.
5. Recognize how a collaborative regional database can be used for quality improvement in clinical practice;
and propose new ideas for future quality improvement projects.
6. Describe various percutaneous endovascular techniques for revascularization of complex infra-inguinal
arterial occlusive disease.
