WORD Acts 1:1-11; Ps 47:2-3, 6-7, 8-9; Eph 1:17-23; Mt 28:16-20 ORDER “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” Mt 28:19 DIRECTION As Disciples of Christ in the BLD, it is not enough that we know the scripture by heart and practice what the Bible says. It is not enough that we go to church every day, do our daily devotions, receive the sacraments, aend the weekly prayer meeting, and serve in com- munity. Going out to the end of the ages and baptizing people in the name of the triune God means obeying Christ’s, living his command- ments and the life he chose for us, and preach- ing the Good News at all cost as did John the Baptist and the saints. In teaching people about Christ, the world must see the special love relationship we have with Jesus flowing freely in our words, thoughts and actions. They must see the joy and laughter of the Lord working in us in both good times and in bad as we continue to keep the fire of the Spirit burn- ing in our hearts. They must see the sacrifices we make for them, giving up everything we cling to as we follow the Holy Spirit’s stirrings in our lives as we open ourselves to God’s in- terruptions and go where he leads us. They must be able to see the teachable spirit in us, as SOLEMNITY OF THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD

INVITATION TO FAMILY ENCOUNTER #18 WEEKEND
The Family Life Ministry is pleased to announce that it will hold the
Family Encounter #18 Weekend on August 22-24, 2014
at The Valley of the Mother of God in Orangeville.
You may contact FE #17 class shepherds, Rene and Ditas Dimen ([email protected])
despite Christ’s promise that the Holy Spirit will
soon be coming to give them the power to be his
witnesses, the eleven disciples continue to doubt
their own capability to accomplish all that Christ
has commissioned them to do. Their spirits
were willing but their bodies were weak and
their minds unable to process the magnitude of
the work to be done. When Jesus was taken up
to heaven, they stood there looking up, feeling
lost, unable to respond, trying to figure out
what to do next.
Like the eleven disciples, we often feel good and
secure when our elders are present to give guid-
ance and direct us in our ministry and mission
work. But when called to accept a new assign-
ment, when asked to tread into unfamiliar sur-
roundings, and when left to accomplish things
on our own, the years of training and immersion
in ministry work seem to disappear before us.
Instead of setting our minds on the greatness of
our calling, on the bountiful harvest that we will
reap for the Lord, on the glory that God will re-
ceive, we focus on the physical absence of our
mentors, the hardships, the difficulties, the
crosses, the persecutions, and the alienation that
Good Morning...God By Pamela Steinke
"As long as I have your permission to use you as My instrument, then I will use you when the time is right. It will be a natural, gentle
process; the opportunities will be there. Those needing help will be brought to you. You must only be willing. That is all I ask. And I will not ask too much of you. Who
better than I can know the demands upon your time and energy? Would I then heap upon
you more than you are able to bear? No, My timing, My ways are perfect. Just let your life flow with Me. Then all will be well.
No greater joy will you ever know than to be one that I have chosen to use."

ME Weekend #1 OSG/SFX brings in 15 couples and a priest By: Rey and Mabel Perlas, Tricord-Evangelization OSG-SFX
GOD IS GOOD! The OSG/SFX (Open in Spirit to God – St. Francis Xavier) prayer group has been
blessed with 15 couples and one priest (Father Armand Galay) on its 1st Marriage Encounter
Weekend held at St. Francis Xavier High School, Mississauga on May 24 and 25, 2014. Fr. Felix
Labor from the Philippines led the Pastoral Team with sharers Tony & Angie Ng and Willie & Viv
Saguil in bringing the love of God to the 15 couples in attendance. The working team was equally
blessed in finding joy in their service to our ever loving God. The OSG/SFX prayer group has set a
precedent in successfully conducting the 1st “Live-Out” Marriage Encounter Seminar. As a result
of this pilot project, we can expect more live-out ME(s) to follow in the near future.
CONGRATULATIONS to our OSG/SFX Marriage Encounter #1 Graduates!

FORGIVE YOURSELF
“The past can’t be changed, can it? It can just be forgiven.”
– Elizabeth George
Most of the time people will hurt us intentionally or unintentionally. When we get hurt
we take revenge, we ruin our life, we distrust people around us, we question God and
we even hate ourselves. But what is worse is when we hurt our own self with the de-
cisions we make in life. Whatever our decisions and actions, there will only be two
outcomes either we reward our self or push our self to hell.
“When you initially forgive, it is like letting go of a hot iron. There is initial pain and the scars will show, but you can start living again.” ― Stephen Richards, Releasing You From The Past: Healing Past Hurt Through Forgiveness
I made a lot of mistakes in the past, a countless mistakes and I am afraid that I may
commit the same mistakes again. It’s so hard to accept that humans have weakness-
es. Sometimes I wish that we were created perfect. But trying to see and learn from
my imperfections, I am molding myself to become not perfect but the best that I could
be. Some of the decisions that I made bring me to my present guilt. I admit some-
times I hate myself for failing others, for failing my family, for failing God and the
worst is for failing myself. But what bothers me is the difficulty of forgiving my-
self. Why is it so hard to forgive my own mistakes? I can forgive others but why not
me? Or maybe I am just telling myself I forgive those who hurt me but the the truth
is I didn’t actually forgive them. Because there is this thing that I truly believe
in… “You cannot give something you do not have.” So in my thought how could I
forgive others if I could not even forgive myself. Hard to accept but it’s true.
“Take a walk through the garden of forgiveness and pick a flower of forgiveness for everything you have ever done. When you get to that time that is now, make a full and total forgiveness of your entire life and smile at the bouquet in your hands because it truly is beautiful.” ― Stephen Richards, Forgiveness and Love Conquers All: Healing the Emotional Self
