2-3 Millenniumfor Orchestra, Two Antiphonal Choirs, and Optional Solo Vocalist
Special Directions concerning the Set-Up and Potential for Music-making.
The Antiphonal Choirs, both SATB, are meant to be staged in extreme positions, left and right, front and back as logistics allow.
During the flowing “Gloria” moments, each Choir is invited to create its own set of dyanmics.
Example:
As Choir 1 sustains a rhythm, it crescendos. As Choir 2 sustains that same rhythm, it decresendos.
As Choir 1 crescendos on descending lines and decrescendos on ascending lines, Choir 2 decrescendos on descending lines and crescendos on ascending lines.
Much is possible!
Musical
Each year I tell ask my kids, “Why don’t we just leave the tree up this year? Christmas will be here again before you know it anyway.”
This past year, immersed in the writing of Music for the Christmas Passion album, I did indeed live each day in the emotions and contemplations of Christmas. This arrangement, the first one I had done in the suite of 12 pieces, was/is my first Prayer to Our Lord. I cannot hear it, despite many hundreds of listenings, without weeping. For me, the Prayer was successful. I hope it will be the same for you and for those to whom you will bring this work.
