Rates Relief
• Rates Relief - Expanded Retail Holiday
– 1,911 existing businesses received full Small Business Rate
Relief (SBRR) in 2020/21
– Since the expanded Retail Discount Scheme (rates payment
holiday) the council has awarded additional relief of
£45,905,373.26 in Retail Discount
How Enfield Council Responded
Grants
• Business Grants– A total of 3210 businesses have received £40,410,000 of Small Business Grant
or Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Grants from the council
• Launching Discretionary Grants – Top-up funding to the business grant scheme to accommodate small
businesses with ongoing fixed property-related costs previously outside the
scope. Initially, Enfield Council will prioritise the funding for the following
businesses, in line with government guidance:
– Small businesses in shared offices or other flexible workspaces.
– Regular market traders
– Bed & Breakfasts
– Charity properties

– We currently have an offer for a discounted 1 yr FSB
membership – take advantage of this offer!
• £1.5m, 3 month rent holiday for 200 Enfield
businesses and charities who rent council
buildings

Outdoor markets and car dealerships open

Non-essential shops can reopen including shops selling clothes,
shoes, toys, all furniture stores, books, and electronics, tailors,
auction houses, photography studios, and indoor markets
• July 4th
Step Three of Government’s plan to re-open businesses.
